I was bored and looking at 1st tri and someone said they were obsessed with having a girl, someone responded if she had TTTC than she wouldn't care, and someone else posted to please not tell her child (if it is a boy) that she wanted a girl.
It made me think about the fact that it is just kind of a joke in our family that my dad really wanted me to be a boy (I have 1 older sister). I even found a letter from my great grandma to my dad after I was born and it said something about how he shouldn't worry, he will get his 'sons' some day when we marry, lol.
I just laugh. Obviously my dad loves me, even though I am a girl
Re: Parents wish you were a DS?
Yes, my dad wanted me to be a boy.
He also wanted my younger sister to be a boy.
He was "blessed" with three girls. I don't think he loves me any less because I am a girl though.
I'm pretty sure they wanted a girl when I was born. They got one of each though (younger brother).
I know from the very start dh wanted a girl, but as soon as Preston was born, he changed his mind. He still makes comments like, "I can't believe I wanted a girl so bad, Preston is just perfect".
Maybe, someday we will have a girl, but I would be happy with either.
yeah, my mom wanted a boy.... she got a girl.... My dad always wanted a girl. I am an only.
My dad was a college athlete and avid hunter/fisherman, so it was no secret that he wanted a boy. He got two girls. After our big U/S with DD, when I called to tell him it was a girl, after congratulating us, he just had to add, "well there's always the chance y'all will have a boy next time..." Of course, he absolutely adores DD (and I think even plays favorites with her vs. DS!)
I was the middle of 3 girls. ?I know they thought my younger sister was going to be a boy-- never understood why they were so sure of it, though. ?I often wondered if they were disappointed, but if they were it didn't show.
MIL told me she cried when she found out her 3rd and last baby was going to be another boy. ?Of course, she loved him the same as DH and other brother, and I don't think BIL was scarred by her initial reaction.?
