Does your office offer genetic counseling? Generally these tests are best for someone at higher risk because of age or medical or family history. Ideally it's really best to review your individual case with a genetic counselor to see if it's right for you.

To add to what PP said, do you carry risk for genetic mutations? Are you considered high risk? These tests can come up with false "positives" and cause undue stress and further, more invasive testing. I'd say if you aren't a carrier for genetic abnormalities, skip it.
