Re: Working out? Almost 4 weeks pp

  • I live out in the country, 30 min from my gym. So it's an hour round trip plus the workout time. I EBF so going to the gym right now isn't a viable option... Not to mention I have no one who can watch my 4 week old when I go to the gym... I'm like you, I feel gross, so yesterday I decided to do a home workout... Well, LO refused to take a decent nap or be put down so I didn't have 30-45 min to knock out a workout, so I improvised: every moment I got I did squats, lunges, calf raises, and glute kickbacks. I did ten of each every chance and kept a mental talley. I then took LO on a quick power walk in the stroller. At the end of it all I felt GREAT! Sucks not being able to just enjoy a workout straight through but you have to make due with what you've got. I'm 4 weeks pp w/ 2 degree tear and all those squats and moves yesterday didn't hurt a bit.

  • I'm 3 weeks pp and have gone on one walk lol. With my last I started working out before my 6 week appt and it made my bleeding come back. So I'm waiting until my six week appt this time so I don't have to deal with prolonged bleeding bc that is not fun!
  • I got the clear to start exercise at 2 weeks. Minimal tearing with a few stitches. My midwife suggested walking with the baby and maybe doing arm/ back/ chest stuff to ease into it before any heavy leg/core work outs.
  • DS is one month today and for the past week I've been taking him on moderate walks almost every day. I take my time--definitely not a workout pace--but it gets me moving without hurting me since I'm definitely not fully healed yet. I'm so excited to get back to my regular workouts (and my regular jeans)!
  • I am almost 3 weeks now and have been walking a lot with the carrier. I also feel gross and I am going to try the gym out today for an hour and see how it goes. If my body is giving me signs it's too early I will give it a couple days and try an easier workout and go from there.i ebf but have two older kids lo and be with for an hour and then hubby and I get alone time at the gym again which we both enjoy together.
  • My baby is 5 weeks now. I started taking him on walks in his jogging stroller pretty early on. I gradually started going longer and at a faster pace. Today is the first day I ran with the jogging stroller and I started to bleed again. It felt amazing to run again, but I might have to slow down. Just listen to your body (and your doctor) and do what feels right! Good luck!

  • I'm 4 weeks pp and started working out last week. I don't want to take baby too much so I do all of mh workouts at home. I do crunches, squats, plank, jump rope and pretty much whatever I feel I can handle that day.
