Let's talk sex

Alright, I am curious... has sex worked for anyone to get labor started? We are over due and the doc suggested sex and walking. Regardless, doc says we are ok to have sex so we are going too, but I am just wondering if anyone else tried it and started up labor? If so, how long did it take?

    My water broke during.....but didn't start contractions. Was ok for me b/c I was planning for a repeat c. It was

    I'm due in a week, and my last day of work is Wednesday. After Wednesday, I already warned Hubby that we will be having sex every day, at least once! We'll see if it works.

    Love it! My boss said I can take this week off and not count it towards my leave. I definitely thought about doing the same thing! I may do it if he hasn't come by Tuesday afternoon!

    It worked for me, unfortunately I was only at 33 weeks at the time & thankfully they were able to stop the labor. They told me no more sex until I'm further along. I am now 37w4d and it's safe to have sex again but we haven't.

    It hasn't worked for me! Between that and walking every day... I'm 40 weeks +1 and have been at 2 CM with zero labor signs for almost two weeks.

    Didn't work for me with my last kid or this one (so far) either! I'm 38 weeks

    Sex? You mean that thing we did to conceive?! Yeah, haven't had much of that! But I told the hubby there's no way of getting out of it the next few weeks. This entire pregnancy has been excuse after excuse for him, ugh!!

    I don't think my hubby would be up for that. Once he found out I was 1cm dilated, he made the executive decision that there would be no more sex. (He's super concerned about hurting me or the baby.) Hah! Unless the doctor suggests it, I don't think he'll go for it until after baby arrives.

    Basically where we are at! 40+2 and as far as I know, no dilation change and 90% effaced. I was having contractions at 38w4d and I felt closer to labor then than I do now.

    By the way, it didn't work! I felt some small contractions but not strong enough or consistent.

    We were hesitant too. We actually went 9 months without sex because I was on pelvic rest until 32 weeks, and then after that I was NOT feeling it. Doctor did not suggest anything other than walking and sex. Needless to say, I had 2 contractions last night that woke me up but I am still preggers. We will just keep waiting until our little man is ready!

    Interesting...same thing here at 33 weeks. Spent the night in the hospital getting the contractions under control and was warned no more sex for a while!

    Last thing I'm trying tonight is pineapple lol. But that's more for the hubby cause he is getting impatient so we will see, plus pineapple is yummy.

    I have been on a pineapple kick for 4 weeks, not realizing it was a natural "inducer"! I was 90% effaced at my last appointment, so I think there is some truth to it softening the cervix! Good luck mama!

    Doc said walking and sex were the only things to try to bring on labor. He said the act of sex not so much, but the semen itself helps activate dilation. Apparently the drug they give to stimulate dilation is an artificial mimic of the chemical in semen.

    I had my little guy on wednesday. I was 4 cm and 80% effaced. Had membranes stripped, ate Chinese food, and had sex. Lol. He was born the next day at 2 pm

    My sex drive has been zero since I found out I was pregnant. However due to one high blood pressure and protein in my urine my midwives want this baby out and I want to avoid pitocin to get it done.

    So, I'm trying sex, spicy food, squatting, acupuncture, evening primrose oil, walking, and now I'm going to go get some pineapple...
