We're at 4 weeks now, I only wake her if we have to go somewhere, or if I want to go to bed (I'll get her to eat and change her bum). She doesn't have a routine yet, just random wakeful periods through the day.
I don't wake. I was told once she got back to birth weight I didn't have to wake her for feeds. I have moved her while sleeping to run errands but she stays asleep. I don't think they can sleep too much at this point. They have so much growing to do, both physically and mentally, and they do that while sleeping
I wake my little one. Towards the end of the day so that way she sleeps better at night. Seems to be doing great for me, feed her before I put her to bed and she's been sleeping 6-7 hours at night
I wake her during the day if she sleeps more than 3 hours. I also wake her at night still if she goes 5+ hours and I wake up. I'll see how much she weighs at her doctors appointment tomorrow and will let her sleep if doctor is happy with the gain so far.
Don't wake the baby! Enjoy the sleep! Mine still wakes ever hour and a half to two hours to eat at night. I would love to get even just three hours in a row!
No way!!! Maybe if she weren't gaining weight or eating well but we're not having any of those issues and if she needs to sleep there's no reason to wake her. If we have errands to run or whatever I base those around her feeding times and she sleeps through everything.
I only wake DS at night if he's slept 5 or more hours. That has only happened once so far and he's almost 4 weeks old. Otherwise I just let him tell me when he's hungry. The past few days he's started eating more often so I'm thinking he's in a growth spurt or something. He's been over his birth weight since he was 12 days old
I woke DD up until week 4. Then one guilty night, I looked at DH and asked "Why not? Why not just see how long she sleeps." Thanks to cluster feeding (baby's choice) earlier that evening the answer was almost five hours. Mind you, DD almost gained an entire pound above her birth weight by week 2 and she doesn't seem to have her days and nights mixed up.
4 days after birth, baby had already far surpassed birthweight. Today we're two weeks and she definetly has a tummy and is growing fast. She slept 10 hours last night, 6 hours, a feeding, and then another 4. There is no way in hell I would wake her unless I noticed a change in diapers or weight loss. I feel like she's transitioning herself to sleep through the night, and I'm all for it!
