wake him up?

DS wakes up from his nap about 3pm and is ready to sleep again at 5.  I try and let him "cat nap" but i usually wind up waking him aroun 545/6 so that he goes back down for the night at a reasonable hr. He still doesn't sleep through the night, though doesn't eat either.  He cries, we give him the paci and he's back to sleep but from 2am-5am is tough. Would you wake him from this nap like i have been doing, or let him sleep and then put him down for the night later, around 9pm?

    Try letting him sleep and see if he will still go to bed early. My daughter naps around 5:45 or 6 for 40 min or so. I feed her at 7 and she goes down for the night at 7:30. She's a great sleeper at night anyway but her late nap doesnt seem to mess her up. It sounds like yours is a better daytime napper than mine but that's my 2 cents.

    so i actually did that, he woke up after 45 min, i fed him dinner, gave him his bath and he was back down at 7...lets see how we do tonight!
