Baby won't sleep in crib

I have one of those rock and naps from target and he's slept in there since birth. He loves it but the doctor said its was huge risk for sids so we have to make him sleep in his crib now but whenever I put him in it he just wakes up two seconds later and cries... I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

    Is that like a rock n play? I've never heard anything that says they increase the risk of sids. We use one and I think it is great! Do whatever you feel comfortable with, but if it was working for you, I don't see any reason why you should change it.

    Warming the crib surface (or using a flannel sheet), swaddling, and making sure baby is deeply asleep (20 min) are good things to try. There have been some other threads on this as well. And some babies just hate cribs haha. I didn't even set up the crib this time, DD1 treated it like a mortal enemy.

    Rock n Plays are really not meant for sleeping overnight as they do increase SIDS risk. Anything that makes their chins angle down toward their chest can be a risk.

    The post above offered great advice! Swaddling and warming up the blankets work well!

    Ours would only sleep in the Rock N Play the first few nights because he hated to be swaddled arms-in but didn't like the open feeling of the pack n play. We started using an arms-free sleep sack and positioned him at the very bottom edge of the pack n play so if he kicked he would kick the bottom side and meet some resistance (to remind him of being in the womb). Both of these did the trick and he's been sleeping in there ever since at night.

    We're working on getting him to nap in his crib during the day using the same technique, but because he's not in as deep of a sleep as he is at night, it's a work in progress!

    Also, make sure he's fully asleep (and has been for at least 20 minutes) before laying him down in the crib.

    Swaddling, a fan and a shusher. Mine has been in his crib in his nursery since week 2 and if we change his diaper, feed him, and swaddle the shit out of him and place him in his crib with the fan going and the shusher on... He's happy most of the time. He only sleeps in his crib at night. We use the pack n play for daytime naps.
