loss of appetite. anyone else?

Ever since delivering i have had a severe loss of appetite. Sometimes i forget to eat. And when i remember the thought of food repulses me and i just nibble. Im breast feeding so i know its important for me and the baby that i eat and eat well. But food just seems like such an effort at this point. I was supposed to be induced on the 15th but baby came on the 6. So i ran out of time for my meal prep. Anyone have any suggestions on quick easy meals..that you can make one handed lol ?

Re: loss of appetite. anyone else?

  • I'm the last person to give meal advice bc i don't cook on my best days and officially stopped at 30ish weeks when I burned my belly one too many times lol...

But what I can contribute that may be of some help to you is to get a carrier/sling. It allows you use of both hands while keeping baby close. You can use it not only while you cook/prep but also while you do other chores. They come in a range of prices so it doesn't have to be a big investment if you don't want it to be.

My suggestions for food are in no particular order: crock-pot, hubby/significant other, do-gooders who want to come over and see baby (always put them to work lol), and take-out.

    Good luck and congrats! :-)

  • It's actually pretty common! I read that I should be ravenous and eating even more than when I was pregnant, but I lost my appetite when my baby was born four weeks ago. It's slowly coming back, but apparently it's normal. Just try to drink lots of fluids and eat high protein! I have been relying on water, Powerade, and turkey sausage when the mood strikes me. My supply is still good (I have about 150 oz stored in the freezer already!) so I'm not too worried.
