Anyone selling their breast milk?!

I am really wanting to sell my breastmilk since I do plan on nursing my son but I do not know where to begin... Any tips?

@Clorette2 you can sell it but I don't know how legal it is. I know there's a market for it among body builders but because it's a bodily fluid I'm sure there's some something to selling it.

@mbrenda12 look into your state's rules about this and if there even are any. Worst case there's a buyer on Craigslist for everything so you can start there. Same with donating if you choose to do so. Either way it's your decision :-)

I knew someone who was purchasing their baby's breast milk on craigslist. She said the person got it "tested" so it was safe and all. Before that she had been purchasing from the breast milk bank at the hospital for her baby. $4 an ounce I beleive the hospital charged and this was a much better deal through craigslist. Different strokes....

It should have been flagged as prohibited on CL because it's a bodily fluid which is not allowed on the site, regardless of state law. Honestly even if it was allowed I wouldn't trust a stranger just because they said it was safe. I'd rather pay out the nose to the hospital milk bank and know that the proper testing and handling has been done.

Personally, I would just use formula. Kind of freaked me out a bit. My firstborn is an adorable genius fed via formula. But hey maybe this is a great way to make a little extra cash for the holidays....
