Facebook photos... Sooo mad

So I made our baby.. Who is not even a week old.. My Facebook photo. My dad shared the picture which pissed me off but I know he was just wanting to show her off. Well he accepts anyone that friend requests him and some random person shared his post. I am so so so upset right now and there is nothing I can do. I am deleting my Facebook but that post isn't going anywhere. And I contacted the lady who did it and she's like "oh I'll try" .. Then she blocked me from messaging her.

Re: Facebook photos... Sooo mad

  • As long as your Facebook photos are private, even if your Dad "shares" them, no one but your friends list can see them.

Now...if you make your baby your public profile picture, than ANYONE can see it, friends list or no friends list. If you want to remove the posts, all you have to do is delete the photo. There posts will delete as well.

This however does not stop people from downloading/screenschot your pictures, and reposting them. Although, then you can turn them into Facebook and have the posting removed.

  • Well I deleted my Facebook so problem solved but I definitely had my privacy settings as my friends only, so not public, and when my dad shared it his friends were able to see it. I am just so pissed.
  • You can report it to facebook saying that the child is a minor and you did not give them permission to share your photo, but since it was a share and not them just posting it, I don't really know if there is anything they can do.

It is a little weird for someone you don't know to be sharing a photo of your baby, but nothing you ever post on the Internet is ever truly private, so you just might have to chalk this up to lesson learned.
  • My dad shared my announcement and when I got the Facebook notification it said that even though he shared it, only our mutual friends could see it.

You said you made it your profile pic right? That photo is always public.

  • No it's not. Your cover photo is always public. And I tried to report it to Facebook but they just said to block her or send her a message, which I did
  • My mom shares almost every single pic/post of mine. Now my ex father in law has started doing the same! He even shared a photo of my youngest child that he is not the grandfather of. Makes me want to delete them. I stopped posting because of this and when I get all
Of my pics saved to my computer I will likely delete my profile
  • Don't post stuff to Facebook that you don't want people to see.

  • One of the reasons I got rid of FB a long time ago...
  • Yeah I've pretty much just accepted the fact that if I post a picture of my child online, it's never truly private.  Like you said, your dad is just excited to share that he's a grandpa now :)

Still weird that some rando would share your dad's picture of your baby.
