Nyquil???

Wow, so just this evening I feel like I've been hit in the face with a brick. Coughing, stuffed nose, watery eyes, sore throat etc. My husbands been sick for the last few days. He tried to avoid me but you know how that goes. Anyway, the only thing I have right now in hand is alcohol free Nyquil. Has anyone taken this while pregnant and it was ok with your OB?

  • Try Benadryl instead
  • Nope, I was even told no on the alcohol free kind. I took Benadryl or tussin followed by unisom when I was sick. Sorry :(

  • Guess the hubby's going to the store!!
  • So Robatussin should be fine? Plus, I shouldn't feel guilty to send him he started this. Lol
  • Tell him to ask the pharmacist on staff (assuming he is going to a pharmacy). I would make DH go if he got me sick! Sadly options are limited for cold relief while pregnant. Feel better!
  • I gargled religiously with warm salt water every few hours and lived off mint tea with honey last week during my cold. I also took hot steamy showers 3 times a day to try and keep my sinuses clear. OO and I used Vicks Vapor rub at night behind my ears and on my chest and feet... being pregnant and sick blows. Feel better!
  • Ok, he's off...I told him ask the pharmacist if they're still there, though I think it may be too late. So if not, get benadryl. Because it's mostly my face not coughing (coughing too). But the worst part is my eyes and nose and throat. He's going to get me some lemon tea too. Thanks so much ladies!!!

Yep! It's on my approved list.

  • I am sure you have already figured out your issue, but just in case, I figured I would add my two cents. I was bit by something that has been incredibly itchy, and took Benadryl the past two nights to help. I don't remember the last time I slept so soundly. So, while it may not help your cold,it should definitely help you sleep. GL!

    What happened to Ginger???

  • Tylenol. Robitussin dm. Tea with honey. Break out baby's humidifier. :)
  • Hope n you feel better!
  • Tylenol, peppermint tea and steaming up the bathroom with a hot shower always helps me :)
  • Neti pot may help also!
  • Ok, so I took the benadryl and passed out...almost didn't wake up in time to pee (tmi) lol. But it helped me sleep. Still feeling chappy but the tea and steam are helping too. More benadryl tonight. Lol
  • You can also call your dr to see what they recommend. My gave the all clear for Tylenol cold and sinus and anything with a decongestant since my blood pressure is low and the risk is for those with high blood pressure.
