Random blood in urine...

Hi ladies!
Ok. On Thursday I had high bp 90/144. They did blood work and nst. I did have protein in my urine however blood work came back "excellent". The following days my first go of the day had blood in it. Dr isn't worried because I don't have any other symtomns. I go for another check tomorrow. Advice?

Re: Random blood in urine...

  • Keep an eye on it to make sure it's not reoccurring. If it continues to happen, personally, I would go to the hospital. I wish

  • *i wish you nothing but positive vibes your way.
  • Wear a panty liner if you aren't already to see better what you're discharging. Other than that lil tidbit, just do what your doctor recommending. Goodluck :)
  • I had a lot of bladder infections when I was younger and you could see small traces of blood in it. Not sure if it's the same though. Drink a lot of fluids and cranberry juice??
  • No pain is accompanied that's what I find odd.
  • Yikes... blood in urine is usually kidney/bladder infection to my experience... keep an eye on it and make sure you address it with your doc as soon as you're able.

I'm notorious for getting kidney infections and not realizing until it's gone really far. I never get any pain until I'm basically dying (over-exaggeration, but you catch my drift) and my doctors always brush it off. Crossing my fingers that it's nothing serious! Good luck!

Deleted my duplicate post. (See below). Sorry...apparently I have no idea how to edit a post...
  • I had a significant amount of blood in my urine during the last four months of my first pregnancy and it was not accompanied with any pain. The docs ran a fair share of tests to figure out what the problem was, but weren't able to pin point the issue.

After I had DS, the blood continued, so the doctor decided to run an X-ray to see if they could find anything. Turns out I had 9 kidney stones (5 in ones side, 4 in the other, one of which was huge) and although the large stone made its way into my ureter, it didn't cause a blockage, so I wasn't in pain. The random movements from the stone attempting to make its way out of my body was what was causing the bloody urine.

Hopefully that's not your issue, but if you haven't been checked for stones, you may want to mention it to your doctor.

**Edited because I posted before I finished my thought...**
  • Thank you! I have read a lot and kidney stones were a definite thought. I was wondering if that could have caused my blood pressure to rise as well. Not sure if kidney stones do that.
  • All of my urine tests at my OB appointments showed traces of blood. In August, I started peeing large amounts of blood. Hardly any pain at all- just some occasional discomfort. They even did an ultrasound to check for kidney stones (I have a history of them), but found nothing. I was convinced that it wasn't kidney stones because I wasn't having the typical pain that comes with them. But, of course, about 4 days later, I started passing kidney stones. Since then, I've passed 5 stones. I have no idea why they didn't show up on the ultrasound!
So- it is possible that you're dealing with the same thing!! Good luck!
