Went for my very first appointment today! It was just supposed to be a nurse intake visit and blood work but thankfully they had a last minute ultrasound cancellation so we got to see our little one! Based on my LMP I would be 8 weeks and 1 day but I knew based on when I thought I ovulated I wouldn't be that far. Baby measured at 7 weeks 1 day and they said the heartbeat was strong!
How far along are you? 9 weeks 1 day. Based on LMP would have been 4 days, so pretty spot on!
So my ticket day is moving from Thursday to Sunday.
How did your appointment go overall? GREAT!! I love the practice. Met with the dr 1st to discuss any questions I had and for a pelvic exam. She told me to stop reading so much so I don't get too worried about everything. Then I had my sonogram. Scared me at 1st, she was just moving it around and clicking away but not saying anything. After about 2 minutes she turned the monitor to me and there is way. My baby! We saw and heard the heartbeating. SO AMAZING. Then met with the nurse to discuss everything about pregnancy I already knew from the bump, and to get blood drawn. 9 vials. Cripes!!! Next appt is in 3 weeks for a 1st tri scan. Then dr appt in 4 weeks. SOOO amazingly relieved that everything is ok. And pretty relieved its not twins
How far along are you? 11w1d although they measured me at 11w4d. I'm already ahead of my O date, so maybe it's a bigger baby.
How did your appointment go overall?
Really well! All my blood work was good, and things went smoothly after a longer wait than I would like.
Any ultrasound or doppler?
Yup! This was my second appointment, but I got a bonus ultrasound because I have a retro verted uterus and she couldn't find the heartbeat on Doppler. I kinda suspected this would happen, so I didn't freak out. It was so cool to see the baby move and looks so much bigger!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
I didn't really have any this time, other than a money question the office staff answered
I'm 7-8weeks (LMP should be 8 but measured 7). Going to recheck in a couple weeks. Loved the doctor and the office. Had an ultrasound so we got to see and hear the heartbeat, which was 136bpm. It was incredible to see and hear- made it all seem so real now!
Had my first appointment today...well yesterday technically, just the intake with the nurse. Because of inconsistent cycles I have an early dating ultrasound scheduled for Thursday, but based on my LMP I'm 8w6d along with an EDD of May 17th. I met with the insurance lady and she was a major buzzkill! I'm a FTM and although I certainly didn't expect this all to be free, I found out how much our current insurance sucks and how much this will cost us. So I was pretty disappointed by that and almost started crying in the lady's office because of my crazy hormones! Ha! Looking forward to Thursday to see our little baby!
Had my first appointment yesterday, all went well, Checked my hormone levels due to a miscarriage this summer, and doc was very happy with the results!
I have an early ultrasound scheduled for next Tuesday, again to make sure all is on track...fingers crossed!
The one question I forgot to ask was whether or not to get my flu shot now, or if she wanted me to wait until 12 weeks. I think I will just get it.
Any ultrasound or doppler? We had our NT scan ultrasound today. We saw the LO looking like a human (vs the gummy bear we saw at 6w4d), bouncing around and heard the heart beat going strong. The measurements all looked great and everything is progressing right on track. I am still glowing with relief, excitement, and joy. I kept laughing during the ultrasound and the tech had to re-do her measurements. Luckily she was totally nice about it and assured us it laughter is pretty typical.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? After the scan we had an appt with the OB, who I just love. I asked her about the timing of the flu shot and she told me to wait until after 13 weeks to get it, which I didn't know.
How did your appointment go overall? Awesome, happy and releaved. Always think, what if something is wrong? It's just in my nature. It was my second appointment so all blood work went and testing went well.
Any ultrasound or doppler? doppler. Was able to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time since the nurse couldn't hear anything at the last ultrasound. We saw the heart flickering, but she didn't know how to turn on volume ?! I was so relieved this time and dropped a tear! Sometimes I still have to pinch myself that a human is growing inside of me, our child! Truly a miracle!!!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Already love my OB, knowledgeable, compassionate and trustworthy. She recommended to get a flu shot which I got today and I also discussed my traveling plans overseas next month....
Any ultrasound or doppler? We decided to pay out of pocket for an u/s (my insurance only pays for one and the 20wk one is super expensive in comparison). We got to see our baby, heartbeat at 153 and everything looks great! Measuring right on time!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? He answered all of them! This was my first time at this office/doctor and I really like him. He's no nonsense, which I appreciate. He was very matter of fact and I like that. We go back on 11/3 for a doppler and regular appointment.
How far along are you? 8 weeks 6 days (OB changed my EDD from May 21 to May 18 based on U/S measurements and LMP)
How did your appointment go overall? Really well! We got to see baby's heartbeat and the subchorionic hemorrhage I had was absorbed by my body and is no longer visible.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound with the OB and a sonographer both in the room together. It was a great experience.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I kind of blanked when it came to questions - I really should have written some down. My doctor was totally fine with me waiting until after 1st tri to get a flu shot (I'll be getting it at my next appt.)
How did your appointment go overall? Great! Getting genetic blood test done next week so we'll be able to find out gender in about 2 weeks!
Any ultrasound or doppler? Baby was measuring right on schedule. During the ultrasound, baby was waving it's arms all over the place.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? She was so thorough, I didn't even need to ask any of the questions I jotted down.
Had my second appointment today. I'm happy to say there is only baby!!!!! (Husbands family has multiple twins)
How far along are you? This was a little frustrating!! According to my calculations, I'm 7wk 5d. According to the Bump, I'm 8wk 5d. According to the ultrasound, I'm 9wk 3d. We need to get this figured out!!!! Cause my husband is a truck driver and I would like to have him as close as possible. And I need my mother-in-law to be here too!!!
How did your appointment go overall? It was good on all the other parts.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Had first ultrasound. Got to hear baby's heart beat (always awesome)!!!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I really didn't have any questions cause this is my third pregnancy. The only thing that's different with this one is I'm nauseous.
How did your appointment go overall? Great! Good news all around -- just one baby, good heartbeat (though we didn't hear it, just saw it), growing exactly on schedule.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yup -- we'll be doing one more just-to-be-sure ultrasound in two weeks, then I get to graduate from the RE to the midwife!

Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler. Heard a strong heartbeat. I got a recording for my husband. I keep playing it back. It's so comforting.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I asked about testing and when our next scan would be. For now we are opting to not do the chromosomal testing. I go back for a doppler check in at 13 weeks and our next scan will be at 15 weeks.
Normal OB appointment, Dr. discussed testing at 10 weeks that Hubby and I are planning, and gave next next appointment in 3 weeks. Addressed any concerns I had.
Any ultrasound or doppler?
Doppler. Heartbeat was strong. It was so AMAZING to hear!!! I'm over the moon right now!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
How did your appointment go overall? It went great! It was awesome to finally get confirmation that I am definitely pregnant. This was my first appointment and it was pretty much an information session with an exam.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Not yet, but I scheduled my 1st Tri screen for 11/9 (12 weeks). We will get to hear the heartbeat for the first time at my next OB appointment on 11/5.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? My appointment was with the NP this time and she answered my questions on weight gain, exercise, probability of twins, how the appointments will go, etc. My OB office has an awesome information packet with really anything I would need to know. I will definitely have more questions when I get to meet with the OB.
How far along are you? I was 9w1d at my appointment on Tuesday
How did your appointment go overall? Good! It was just a simple appointment. We went over family history, my daughter's pregnancy, how much weight I should gain, etc. Then I had routine blood work done and a urine test.
Any ultrasound or doppler? No.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I didn't have any questions (but I remember having SO many questions my first pregnancy ;-) )
How did your appointment go overall? Well- baby seems to be right on schedule w/ arm buds and strong heart beat.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound- doctor felt it would be too early to hear the heart beat via doppler
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? We are excited to find out baby's gender and, because week 20 is between four week appointments, we have a special appointment on the Thursday before Christmas to find out baby's gender!!!!!
I was surprised that the doctor didn't talk about genetic testing or check the ultrasound for possible signs of birth defects, which are seemingly typical topics around this point. Does that just mean the kid isn't at risk?
