What is ....

Round ligament pain. I know it is a common symptom- but I've never had it.
Lately ( past two days ) I have this feeling - if you put your had below your breasts- that area- feels like I've pulled a muscle there.
When I sit, bend over, try to use the bathroom- I'll have that feeling.
Is that round ligament pains?

Re: What is ....

  • Round ligament pain should be common in your groin area not under your breasts. There is always a chance that a muscle was pulled or strained with all the growing going on right now. If it is constant and persistent or gets worse check in with your doctor. Hope that helped!

  • Round ligament pain is commonly below your belly or in your groin. Maybe you are feeling some stretching and muscle pains from your belly growing? I don't think it is the round ligaments you are feeling above your belly
  • Ok, thanks I'll keep monitoring it and if it gets worse I'll contact my doctor. I have an appt on the 21st so hopefully it won't get worse.

I'm not doing anything to pull a muscle- so I guess it must be like y'all said just pains from growing.

    Thanks y'all
  • I've gotten pains in that area as well. It feels like it is in my ribs. I remember reading somewhere that it is common to get pain in the rib area due to all of the stretching and everything going on so I haven't been too worried about it. For me it feels like a sharp pain when I move or try to take a deep breath, and it usually passes after I sit still for a minute or so.
  • Just an FYI, I had what felt like "rib pain" and it turned out to be an early symptom of a gallbladder attack that landed me in the ER on Wednesday morning. It might be worth a call to your doc/midwife.
  • Rlp feels like bad period cramps for me but just in a half circle under my belly from hip to hip. I had a friend who had bad pain in the ligaments under her chest and around her ribs. Dr's never found anything wrong and said it was just stretching that those ligaments did not like. Def mention it to your dr but it's prob normal aches and pains :)
