Hello,

I'm Sev and DH and I have been ttc for almost a year. I'm currently on CD3 of cycle 12, month 11. I'm not quite to the year mark yet but have already made an appointment with an RE in December in case I reach that mark. I wanted to introduce myself because I have recently started lurking this board since the reality is that I may be at this point very soon. I have no knowledge on infertility, REs, anything like that, so I've been reading through posts and educating myself. Its all brand new and scary.

A little about myself; I'm 27 (almost 28) and DH is 28. We were married in September 2014 and started ttc in December of that year. I've never had even a squinter of a bfp. My tests have all been as white as white can be. My periods are regular and I confirm O every month through temping. I have a history of abdominal surgeries and infection which makes me nervous: my appendix was leaking when I was 11 and formed an abscess in my right lower quadrant, therefore an HSG was recommended by my GYN when I saw her back in April for my annual if I reached the year mark without being pregnant. I temp, I check CM, I use OPKs occasionally, all to no avail.

ask anything!! Everyone has been there in one way or another. Congrats on the RE appt. Having that option in your future gives some hope of help in the future.

@twomommiestobe thanks! I was really dreading making that appointment because I felt like I was giving up hope, but I feel better knowing that if that's what it comes to, at least I have help. It's still scary and makes me sad, but I'm mentally preparing myself for it. I have 2 cycles until that appointment so i'm hoping for the best.

@agriffin92013 thank you. Its definitely helped ease my anxiety about all of this. I think I would end up pulling my hair out if it weren't for these boards. I have no one IRL to talk to about this because no one has ever dealt with it. I feel like my friends and family can sneeze when they're ovulating and get pregnant

I know how you feel. All my cousins and my brother have at least 3 kids. My cousin's kid even had a baby last year and I'm still struggling. I had no outlet until I found this board besides my husband

@severmilli12 definitely congrats on making the RE appointment. I had been hoping that I would get to cancel my RE appt after I had made it (we had a sit down to meet the RE a little after a year of trying). But now that we are working with the RE, have discussed options, and have begun treatment, I feel like I see things differently, and now I have steps I can take in a process over which I have very little control. While I am sorry that we are there and that you may be there, it is now a source for hope and excitement for us.

@brightenmysky Thanks. I'm trying to see it in a positive light. If I do end up having my appt with the RE at least I'm getting help and taking a step in the right direction. Mentally and emotionally I am not there yet, but I'm working on it.

@severmilli12 Yes, congrats on making the step of an appointment with an RE. It really does seem so overwhelming to take that step, but you made a great, smart move! Hopefully you will be able to cancel the appointment, but if not, it'll help soften the 12 months blow, knowing you have an appointment and can start taking productive steps to figure out the issue(s) and get pregnant. I don't know anyone who has regretted seeing an RE. I only know people who wish they saw one earlier! Welcome, and though I'm sure we will enjoy your company, I hope you aren't here long!
