Only if type 2 diabetes and PCOS count.  Doctor has not specifically said it meant high risk but the Google has.

    Edit:
I had a SCH last pregnancy.  It was NOT the cause of my mc though.  When I got the diagnosis I read online a lot of other ladies that had that and had positive outcomes.  I seemed to find more positive outcome stories than bad outcomes.  I found that comforting.  I hope you will too.

Yea. History of incompetent cervix & PROM leading to preterm labor (28weeks). Also I have epilepsy. I haven't gone to my first appt yet but I'm guessing they'll put me on progesterone early on and probably more frequent appointments

  • I had a SCH last pregnancy. I was just put on pelvic rest until 12 weeks. It was resolved by 20 weeks and never caused me any problems.
  • Yes I am high risk for a number of reasons. I will most likely be have a perinatal appointment every month, on top of the regular OB appointment. DS1 was born at 30 weeks due to severe pre-e, PIH, and HELLP. DS2 made it a little longer. He was born at 36 weeks due to PIH. Plus I am AMA.

The way I see it, high risk simply means they have a closer watch on me. And, I totally appreciate being taken care of.

    11.2011 - DS1

    02.2013 - loss at 6 wks

    06.2014 - DS2

    10.2015 - loss at 12 wks

    03.2017 - DD

  • I have a condition that puts me at high risk of clotting and hence miscarriage. Also risk of preterm labour, low birth weight and other fun things. Had an OB before I even conceived. Just close monitoring is what I've been told, which I'm absolutely ok with. I have a good feeling about this one though :) staying positive helps!!
  • I have the same subchorionic hematoma, diagnosed two days ago.  Been cramping pretty bad, though they've eased off a bit.  I'm also 34 which makes me a little more nervous.  I haven't had bleeding, just the cramping.  I'm afraid to do anything (like workout, sex, etc).  I have a Dr's appointment on Friday to see how things are going and check my hormone levels again.  *happy thoughts for all of us*
  • I have veins/arteries on my uterus are malformed.  I had a major complication after D&C earlier this year that caused life threatening bleeding.  They fixed it for normal functioning life, but when abnormalities in uterine function (ie pregnancy) comes up, they don't know what will happen.

I'm hoping I don't have to spend much time with a MFM, but will be seen pretty much weekly by either OB or MFM for the entire pregnancy.  Delivery will not be spontaneous, it can be vaginal, but they don't want it to happen at 3 in the morning.  It will have to be induced when the rest of the planet it up and conscious.

I'm worried that they don't want to see me before 8 weeks, but they assured me it will be ok if I wait until then.

  • I developed HELLP with my last pregnancy at 39 weeks. I luckily delivered a healthy baby boy, but I am nervous this time.

  • Like PPs, I had HELLP, pre-e, PIH with my son and he was born early at 32weeks. He is super healthy and I had no lasting BP issues, but I am terrified of it happening again. I was being seen by midwives last time and they didn't pull in an MD until it was almost too late, so this time I am going straight to the MD at the OB practice and demanding that I have more oversight and care. As a nurse, I love supporting advanced nursing specialists like NPs or CNMWs, but when it comes to my baby's health, I am going to do whatever I have to do to make sure we both get out of this alive!

  • There is some strong woman on here i am so happy to hear yalls stories and appreciate the hope i received from them I'm on pelvic rest and light duty at work but if bleeding starts again i will stay at home good luck to everyone I'm trying to give into hope and not fear
  • I am high risk due to my age and I had gestational diabetes with my daughter and I also lost a baby last year to trisomy 18.

  • I have a blood clotting problem too. I had a miscarriage this past April so the doctor has me on blood thinners and progestrone 2x a day this time around. It's still pretty early in this pregnancy but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
  • I'm on aspirin currently. It's scary. Hoping for the best everyday but no idea what's to come
  • I, too, I have a blood clotting disorder. Most likely the cause of my recurrent MCs. I'm on daily injections.
  • I've had GD with 2 of my pregnancies and PIH with 2 of them. As a result they watch me closely and I get induced at 38 weeks. I have 3 healthy kids though so I'm very thankful. With my last DD my placenta was bleeding around 22 weeks but it never got worse (even though it was very worrisome). Hopefully none of that stuff happens this time!!

  • I had HELLP with DS1 at 30 weeks. (can't believe there are so many other ladies here with it!) DS2 was HELLP free but he was IUGR and SGA..so I'm hoping I don't have to beg to be followed as high risk, but I will if necessary. I'm not messing around with our lives.

  • I have a unicornuate uterus (half a uterus essentially). I've had in the teens of MC but I have a happy healthy DD. The doctor said as of right now I am not high risk but we will be looking carefully in my late second and third trimester since LO will have cramped quarters. I went on bed rest with DD at 6 mos and had contractions for at least 8 hours a day until I gave birth at full term. Wishing you ladies a healthy pregnancy!

Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter)
    Several MCs
DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)

  • I'm AMA, HG, and have a history of preterm labor and delivery (DS was born at 35 weeks), SCH, PPROM.

    My body hates pregnancy.

  • I'm high risk. I have Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) a blood clotting disorder. I have 2 healthy girls but I've had 2 miscarriages and a stillborn daughter born at 29 weeks last Feb. With my daughter I had undiagnosed GD and preeclampsia. I'm currently on 2 x 40mg injections daily and will be having them increased in the next few weeks. I'm also on baby aspirin. I'll be seeing 6 different doctors and midwifes through out my pregnancy
  • Just found out that I have APS, so I've been started on Enoxaparin and baby aspirin. I'm also taking progesterone suppositories to help "calm" my uterus. I'm nervous of what's ahead of my since I'm only 7w2d.
