So, I know I have seen a few posts about pregnant women having more dreams than normal. But I have been having a lot of really bad dreams, nightmares really l!! To the point I wake up crying, sweating or freaking H out. Anyone else have this?
When I was pregnant with my son who is almost 3, I had the worst dreams! I had dreams so terrifying and so incredibly vivid that I thought I was going crazy. My husband would ask about the dreams because I would wake him up crying or screaming. I couldn't even verbalize the details because I thought for sure he would want me to be committed. I had dreams that the baby was here and we would go to the store, get kidnapped and people would tourture and kill the baby and make me watch. It was awful! I was pretty paranoid after he was born. Thankfully I've not had nightmares like that with this pregnancy.
Ok I'm glad I'm not the only one. It is scary when you have dreams that something happens to yor baby, or people try to kill you. It makes my already restless nights even more restless. Thank you for responding and putting me a little at ease. I thought I was going coo coo for coco puffs!
I can empathize. I had some pretty bad ones last night. Woke up in a sweat. I'm honestly looking forward to having normal dreams again. Some of these nightmares are just too much...
Yep! I'm not enjoying the nightmares. Most recent one involved a hooded figure in a red sweatshirt sending threatening notes and stalking. I could hardly close my eyes to fall back asleep without seeing the red figure.
I've had a lot too, and I rarely got them before I was pregnant. Some are just creepy and others are gruesome and I wake up wondering what the heck my subconscious is up to! I feel your pain.
I also have had rediculous nightmares. Thankful none directly involving baby, tho my mom said those were only kind of nightmares that were normal during pregnancy. But they play on just about everything else; from dead bodies to my fear of heights to crazy stuff like frieght trains barreling into the bedroom (the nearest tracks are about 3 ish miles away) and ripping my mother's arm off when she tried to save me from falling into the pool. Yay dreams I am amazed how vivid these dreams are and they bother me days after waking.
Hahaha. Just writing about them makes me feel like I should be put away.
I have atleast 3 dreams so far having to do with snakes. How freaken weird is that? Im not afraid of them or anything so idk why I'm dreaming of them. Hope its not a bad omen.
I actually think last night was one night I didnt have any bad dreams!! H was working nights so I slept on his side of the bed.. lol Maybe thats the secret jk! But, I know with pregnancy we dream alot more but those nightmares literally scare me to the point of not wanting to fall back asleep.
I had to start taking stuff for my nightmares. In the first trimester I had a dream that someone broke in and they were torturing me and they took the baby out of my stomach and shredded the fetus in front of me. And then the killed my dog too. That was the LEAST vivid dream I had. It's been horrible! I've been looking up lots of Disney posts and happy stories at night before bed, along with doing relaxing mind puzzles to help.
I still haven't had gender dreams and I already know the gender.
On a less violent and horrifying note, my cat woke me up from a nightmare last night. I had apparently started crying in my sleep and he came and nudged me until I woke up. I don't remember the dream either luckily [also sorry that my cats are in 90% of my posts, but living 3,000 miles away I learned that none of my friends were real so they're all I got. I'm only a LITTLE crazy.]
I've been having recurrent nightmares that I'm using drugs or drinking while pregnant. In the dream I know it's wrong yet I continue doing it... Which is really weird because I don't even think about drinking when I'm awake, definitely not thinking about doing drugs. So I have no idea where these dreams are coming from, it's really freaky though. They're so vivid

I was told by my Dr that pregnancy dreams are the rare time where the dreams don't actually reflect your subconscious wants.
@thisusername I am thinking the tv may be the cause of most of it. I love to watch Bones, NCIS, and SVU. Maybe a little to much violence for the pregnant lady. I can say that the past few nights I've noticed I have slept better and haven't had as many bad dreams. Or if I have I don't wake up freaking out with them.

I am borderline obsessed with criminal minds and I was told not to watch it within 6 hours of bed. The new episodes come on at 10
That's such a good point, I think it has to be the t.v.- I watch a lot of darker dramas on netflix at night like law and order svu and American horror story. I'm going to start watching lighthearted shows before bed and c if it helps!

I officially hate law and order for stealing Paget Brewster.
I had a dream (nightmare) that I had to pee so bad but I couldn't fit in the bathroom!!! I had to turn sideways and squeeze in and I started to panic feeling claustrophobic. Gotta love pregnancy dreams!
I had three just last night! All extremely vivid. One was a 500 foot tsunami hitting the coastal town where I lived in the dream, one was something terrible happening to my mother, and one was me having tons of bleeding - that one made me wake up, terrified it was real! I so very rarely have vivid dreams, certainly not nightmares, but the tail end of the second tri has been nightmare central for me. Sucks!

When you woke up, did you have to pee? At least you didn't wet the bed or anything from the dream!
Lol. Yes!!! I had to pee. Always have to pee! I think I dreamt about it bc I was too lazy to get out of bed and go! Luckily for my husband I did not wet the bed. That would have kind of sucked. Although I probably would have laughed about it.
Re: Dreaming yes.. But nightmares :(
Hahaha. Just writing about them makes me feel like I should be put away.
