Help with major morning sickness.

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and have horrible morning sickness. I have been trying to stay on top of it by eating lots of small meals but it's just not helping. Hot tea with lemon helps some but 10 min after I finish it I'm sick again. Same after eating. Anybody have any ideas? I could use any help. Thanks!!!

  • I think if you search for this, you might find a ton of info on ways that other ladies on TB have managed their MS. I personally haven't had it bad enough that I have any tricks, but some people have tried sour candies/preggo pops which I hear is really good. This is asked a lot, so I am sure you can find some remedies in old threads :)

  • I have done research on it. Problem is most of the suggestions I get are making me feel sicker. I was hoping for some "real life" answers.

There are a few threads. There's one on the first page regarding handling morning sickness and working full time.

I'm not sure why you think you'd get different answers...

The threads already discussed on this are based on real life questions, so would think those answers can help you!?

You mentioned you tried lemon tea only. What else have you tried? What is making you sick? Hard to give suggestions if we don't know what is making you sick that you have tried already!

  • Check out the other threads, and if it's that bad, call your OB. They can give you medicine to ease the nausea.

  • Try preggie pop candies or the seabands!

Agree. Sea Bands were a life saver for me. If you can't find Preggie Pops try any sour lemon candy. Not sure if your pre-natal is adding to your nausea, but I switched to taking mine before bed and that also helped tons. Good luck, feeling that like is the worst.

  • Anything Ginger related is good for sickness. Im finding Gingerale is currently my go to, also ginger nut biscuits!
  • Every pregnancy is so different, so a lot of is trial and error. My OB told me to try ginger, but that didn't work for me. Lemon jolly ranchers were my saving grace. Be sure to drink a lot of water. My MS has finally tapered off. (Almost 9 weeks). I hope you find something that helps you. Just keep trying different things and you'll land something! It's all worth it in the end!

  • I know this sounds crazy but half of glass of milk helped me.
  • So far I've not found anything that held mine either
  • It sounds like yours may be almost as bad as mine got. There's nothing that I eat or drink that keeps the nausea away. If you haven't done so already, you may want to give your OB a call and see if they can help you out by possibly giving you a as needed prescription. It's a last resort that most don't like to do, but if you can't function and aren't getting fluids it may be at that point. Best of luck!
  • Talk to your doctor about anRX called diclegis. It's unisom and vitamin b6. Cat a and very safe. Works amazing for me
  • Saltines help me so much!
  • Another mama on Diclegis here! It has helped so much! If you're looking to stay away from prescriptions you can try just vitamin B6 tablets (ask your MW for dosage) sea-bands and a probiotic. Also some sort of protein EVERY two hours will help! Best of luck Mamas!

  • I'm taking unisom and B6 and I feel significantly better than before. Ask your dr!

  • Any plain crackers work for me.
  • Any other recommended tried and safe medications for nausea and vomiting during pregnancy?
  • Diclegis didn't work for me. My doctor prescribed phenergran, which I start tomorrow. I'm having problems keeping anything down with this baby, even water. Here I thought I had it bad with DS :-&

  • Diclegis isn't working for me, either. I try taking Zantac along with it, as the doc recommended, but that also doesn't help much. Pretty much just have to live with it, I guess...
  • Last pregnancy crackers in conjunction with sea bands worked for me. This pregnancy nothing does.
  • I'm taking zofran, I've taken it before as I suffer with severe morning sickness. It lasts 8-12 hours depending on the person and is a life saver if you don't want to spend the first trimester in bed not eating
  • Diclegis helped minimally for me. The secret that works best I found is to not let yourself get hungry. The hunger pangs on top of nausea is the absolute worse. I keep a protein packed snack close by and try to eat something every 2-3 hours. Also, Icebreakers Sours help too...and much cheaper than the preggo pop drops.
