Extreme nausea and vomiting???

This is my first child... And lately all I've been able to do is be sick! I've tried every trick and remedy I've seen from eating crackers before getting out of bed, not laying down after eating, sipping fluids between meals, and even buying the sea-band wrist bands for morning sickness but NOTHING has helped keep the food n sometimes no even the fluids down! I don't go into the doctor until Tuesday ... Its been so debilitating I've missed the last 3 days of work and I can't keep doing that! Does anyone have any suggestions or has a doctor been able to do anything for anyone? At this point I'll try anything!!

  • Call your doctor and see if they can call in a prescription for you. There are medications to help.

If you can't keep food down or work, that's debilitating morning sickness or possibly even Hyperemesis gravidarum. You need to see your doctor. The will probably prescribe a medicine like Zofran.

Also, If you have sick days, you can get a pardon note from your OB. I did that with my first baby and still received my pay for missed days without cutting into my vacation days. Hope you get some relief soon!

  • I've had this and was diagnosed with hyperemis gravidarum (basically severe morning sickness) I had to take a week off work when I really can't take any time off. The doctor wrote me a script for zofran and I'm allergic to maxolon. I took it for the first time today and it's a miracle worker: I still feel like a have a fragile stomach but at least I'm not in bed all day. Ask your doctor, no beg him! Sometimes you have to be a bit pushy as some doctors just want you to drink ginger beer etc but when it's affecting your livelyhood medication is the only answer sometimes. To make you feel better it was the drug that Kate (and Will!) took when she was pregnant with Prince George and was diagnosed with it (reportedly) lol!!!
