September 2015 Moms

What's your Mama win today?

Take a moment to brag-what made you proud of yourself today?

DH is at work til he meets me at his family supper. I got both kids up, all of us dressed and fed twice, did dishes and laundry with them, and managed to get them both to nap at the same time (!!) long enough to make a pumpkin pie from scratch! Plus I had time left over to eat cookies while checking the bump :) most of the time I'm running around wanting to cry (or crying), but today I feel like supermom!

  • My newborn and three year old are both asleep before 8pm! I am so proud of myself for how well I am doing with two kids on my own while my husband is deployed. I thought it was going to be a disaster but I've tried to stick to a routine and keep up with all of my cleaning and it makes me feel so much better when I have a clean house.

I absolutely agree about having a clean house! My husband keeps telling me to ease up on the housework but it makes me twitchy when the house is a mess. Good for you for doing such an awesome job while your husband is deployed - you are amazing!
  • We made it to church! And I started sharing baby with daddy more. (He cooked breakfast with baby on his shoulder.) I'm going to make an effort to do that kind of thing more often since we all enjoy it.
  • I took the 2 kids out to Home Depot all by myself! We also got our Halloween display set up on the front lawn.

  • I went out with my best friend and then my best friend and I took my daughter out for a walk around the neighborhood for a while. It was also nice to be able to put on my tennis shoes for the first time in a month! :-)
  • We stayed in a hotel last night, all 5 of us in one room, and it wasn't a disaster! DH held the baby from 8-11 so I could get some sleep. After that LO and I had spotty sleep, but it ended with a 1.5 hour stretch and even though she fussed much of the night (as per usual) she did not wake everyone else. Plus LO slept the whole car ride down and back.
  • I breast feed Kennedy today for the first time for more than five minutes and didn't have to pump tonight at our midnight feeding. At dhs family thanksgiving they got me straightened out in 5 mins compared to the 3 Lcs I have seen, ob and the public health nurse. Here's to hoping I don't have to pump for every feeding.
  • Yesterday, I got in the shower before noon got baby bathed, dressed, and BF with no crying. The real win.. we went to target for baby essentials then the grocery store for real food and she slept the whole time! Mommy wins are getting more frequent! Good luck ladies enjoy yours!
