Flu shot debate

I recently had gone to the doctor just for a check in and the past two times I've gone they've asked me if I had wanted a flu shot. I have politely declined, as I've never gotten one prior to being pregnant. I was just wondering for those of you who DID get it, why and same for those that DIDNT, why? Thanks so much.

  • I would also add to do your own research.  I won't make any claims because I just don't have the energy to cite my sources right now. But I have chosen not to get the flu vaccine.
  • I always get a flu shot.
  • LMAO @ kfarr26!!!
  • I chose not to get it. The last couple times it has come out it was the wrong strain from what actually was out. Also my sister in law got it while pregnant and now cannot eat eggs because it had some weird effect on her system.
  • Seriosuly, no need to be rude. I chose not to get it, not that it is APPARENTLY anyone's business. I DO know how to search about information regarding vaccines, and I have better things to do with my time than go through dozens of other people's threads. Apparently being supportive and helpful isn't in some people's ability, if you're irritated with the topic and how many times it's brought up, do us all a favor and DON'T COMMENT

if YOU don't have the time to scroll through other people's threads that are *already created* and answer your *exact* question, why do you think WE all have the time to give our opinion AGAIN on the SAME damn topic we have already given our opinion on in 13 other threads about this (oh but no, you DO have the time to start your OWN thread and read through IT)?!?! Are you freaking kidding me? It would take less time to read the answers than to type out your own post and wait for everyone to answer again. Get over yourself. SMFH *rude* :-w

  • @livnicolery I will answer your question that you asked. I did not get the flu shot because I got one years ago and had a severe allergic reaction and ended up in the hospital.
  • Ladies so it was posted on threads before. There is no reason to be rude to the woman and attack.

  • I got my flu shot because I was told to by my doctor AND I work in NYC, so God only knows what kind of germs I'm exposed to. I'm also going on a business trip this week and am sure that the airport will be full of germs, too.
  • I got one, only because I got the flu once before and I'm terrified of catching it again! I know it's not 100% effective but I figure some protection is better than none. To each her own, but I'd go with what your dr recommends!
  • I normally don't get it but decided too now that I'm pregnant. Really just my own personal choice because they say it's so much worse when you're pregnant, and of course don't want to cause extra stress on the baby. But I really think it's a personal choice!
