Severe morning sickness..still..

Hey all, I'm just wondering who else is still having morning sickness? Or who else has this late into a pregnancy? I'm now 7 months.. I have had morning sickness issues the entire pregnancy and it seems to have gotten worse honestly. I have gone into the E.R. twice and had to get an IV due to dehydration in the past month. I feel like I have tried everything.. I'm now on my fourth day of being unable to keep any food down. I haven't lost too much weight and am sometimes able to keep fluids down. I can't get into my doctor until next Friday.. I have tried 2 prescriptions for nausea with no relief. This is greatly affecting my ability to work. Anyone else facing this?

Re: Severe morning sickness..still..

  • Yes. Sick the whole pregnancy with my first and that was before diclectin. This pregnancy I have the med and its working thank goodness, otherwise I'd be on medical leave. No way could work and be that sick. I feel for you. It sucks. Maybe look into a medical leave... Bright side, as soon as baby is out and you wake up the next morning, you can hardly believe you're not nauseated. It's an incredible overnight change.

  • Yes! I am still having issues. The meds are finally making it a bit better. I puked every single dinner up last pregnancy and I've been even sicker with this one.

I went to my regular doctor one time last pregnancy bc my OB couldn't fit me in for a week....he is only in one or two days a week and works the rest as the CMO of a local hospital. His staff told me to go to my regular doctor to get fluids/BP/meds. So maybe ask your OB office what they would suggest you do until you see your doctor.
  • I'm glad there are others..this has been such a struggle for me. Physically and it's mentally draining. My doctor has filled out for an intermittent leaveleave for work, but at my appointment next week I am going to ask about a total medical leave. I'm at a point where I just don't know what else to do. I have been unable to keep any food down except toast, when I'm lucky. I'm really hoping my doctor will understand why I would like to be taken off of work, or at least restricted. I am trying another prescription now, but so far no relief. They want me to finish this prescription and then we will try another. The nurse at my OB's office said that they aren't too concerned as long as I'm keeping fluids down, which is sometimes a struggle, and that I'm not losing weight drastically. But if I can't keep fluids down I'm supposed to go back to the E.R. for another IV.
  • Mine stopped at 22 weeks but I just want to say I'm so sorry. It's VERY hard to deal with and most people just do not get it at all. Hang in there.
  • This was me last pregnancy. I'm so sorry. It sucks so bad. I was literally vomiting between patients at work. I had bags in my car to throw up in at red lights. It was hell. This time I'm having a boy and although I'm still currently nauseous and vomiting, it's only a few times a week vs all day long. Pp is right....unless you have been there, no one gets it. You feel so defeated. Just keep thinking of your baby. That's what got me through.

  • I'm sorry you are so sick, honestly it sounds terrible. I find pregnancy hard without hg. I can't imagine how hard it is with it!
  • Thank you for the support! And you guys are right, most people just don't understand. Anyone that's had an easier pregnancy think I should be fine, or am blowing it out of proportion. @AmeliaKris I too keep bags in the car..and have pulled over many times to throw up. That and I have a trash can in almost every room of my apartment. It's definitely an extremely frustrating feeling. Because of it affecting my ability to work and save for his arrival, I sometimes just feel like I'm failing him already, and he's not even here yet. I wish more people understood. It'd make it a lot easier.
  • So sorry mama! I know it sucks. Don't make yourself feel bad! You're doing the best you can for you LO. Hang in there, only a couple more months to go. I bet urgent care could help prescribe you something that might help.

  • You are all dealing with much more than I am, but at 23 weeks, I'm feeling the worst nausea of my pregnancy so far. I had to stay home from work last week and finally broke down and asked for diclegis. It makes me feel like a zombie all day.
