Candida overgrowth

Has anyone on here had candida overgrowth while pregnant and how did you deal with it?

Re: Candida overgrowth

  • yup. it's terrible. yeast infection after yeast infection.

  • I keep the area as dry as I can.. no more baths or if I do I add Epsom salt. I use unscented antibacterial bar soap to wash down there instead of body washes.. monistat when I'm uncomfortable. If I get sweaty I put on fresh dry underwear asap. All that together has made it much better for me. Honestly i think the soap switch made the biggest difference for me.
  • Also see if its your blood sugar. I get yeast infections when my blood sugar gets high enough.
  • Yep. It totally sucks. Like pp said keeping things as dry as possible down there. Panty liners changed a couple time throughout the day. Monistat when really uncomfortable. I also increased eating plain Greek yogurt and less sugars.

Seems like most commenters are addressing external candida my mom just had to deal with candida overgrowth in her gut. Very strict diet, though main thing is no sugar/ simple carbs, very few grains at all to starve out the candida. I think she was told to limit dairy too but she could have some. These diet choices would probably help kill off any candida
