Milk Bleb

Before I begin: I will be contacting my midwife first thing on Monday, as I don't consider this an emergency.

While taking my shower this evening, I noticed a small white dot on my nipple (not the aereola). I googled a bit and I think it might be a milk bleb. I know, googling is a bad idea.

I don't want to mess with it as I would rather my midwife or Doctor look at it prior to.

It seemed like most women had milk blebs while nursing though and my baby boy has yet to be born. So my question is if any of you have also discovered white dots on your nipples during any of your pregnancies?

Thank you.

Yes, ever since I started nursing my first 5 years ago. Reminds my of like a blackhead on your face but a white head around your nipple. They never went away.
  • I had something like that with my first. One of the doctors popped it for me while I was still in the hospital after baby was born. I didn't really think about it after that.
  • I have small white dots on both my nipples, I had them while pregnant with DS also. The LC said they are just my body getting ready to BF, unless they hurt I did not need to worry about them.

  • Okay! Thanks, ladies. It doesn't hurt but I'm still going to ask my midwife. Appreciate your answers.
