Afterpains

I just had dd today and am having some really intense cramping and after pains. She's my second so I knew to expect the cramping but how long should they last?

    With my last baby it lasted several days,then first period after baby was horrible too..feel better its pretty normal,especially after previous babies.

    My cramping and pain lasted almost a week than suddenly they were gone! I'm enjoying feeling fairly normal again.

    11 days PP I still have little ones here and there while BFing. I more feel the BF high now than the afterpains.

    Are you breastfeeding? I noticed that I have less pain bc im breastfeeding

    Yes. The pains are usually brought on by nursing.

    It can last for a little while. And gets worse with each subsequent pregnancy, so it is to be expected that they might be worse or last longer the second time.

    After my first, I didn't need any pain meds other than Advil, but the second time I needed something much stronger just for that cramping. Not looking forward to it again this time!

    Ugh, I'm one day PP the cramping while BF is excruciating. My midwife suggested 600mg of ibuprofen regularly to get by, and it definitely takes the edge off! But I also was curious how long it lasts. I can't take much more of it.

    With my first I had to take ibuprofen and set myself up with a heating pad on my lower back for BFing. I don't really remember how long it lasted. Maybe a week or two?

    I had my dd on monday. This is my second child. I had intense cramps for a max of 3 days. I dont really feel them unless i move too quickly. I used tylenol 500mg for my cramps and when i ran out i used ibuprofen.

    Im PP 7 days and still having pain and my back is Killing me. My stomach feels like a constant ache and I feel so nauseous and no appetite.
