I was just curious who did what in memory of your little one. You know releasing balloons, planting a tree, getting a tattoo, etc. I want to see them all. How do you hold the ones we lost a little closer?

I'll start, my profile picture is of the tree we planted in memory of our sweet child. Here is a picture of when we planted it in the Spring and here is a picture of it today. My EDD is October 13th (yes I know it is right around the corner) and I wanted a tree that would glow in our yard as a sign of our little one.

I have a red diary with my entries and sonograms from then. I think I'll always remember because my current due date is 1 day after my mmc. When I mentioned that to DH he said 'How and why do you remember that date?" I scolded him and asked how I could ever forget. I've only read some of those entries once - it's still sth I can't easily do.
Anyhow my lil red diary is my keepsake of memories.

I thankfully did not throw away my sonogram--I never liked it and was so angry after I lost him that I wanted to just toss it out. I could never really see him in his sideways position, but I finally did the last time I looked. I have a little "miscarriage" garden where my MIL had given me a little fairy/angel statue. I don't do much with it, but I know it is there. I talk to him sometimes in my head, knowing that I am the only one who really thinks about him. My special friend. I don't dwell on it though, unless I am feeling particularly emotional.

We called him frijole- which in Spanish means bean (I don't know for certain if it was a boy, but in my heart I just feel like it was). I found a necklace from Tiffany's that is of a bean and the artist mentioned that the bean represents new life. I got the necklace and wear it every day. I kiss it every night and every morning. It means so much to me, and nobody else knows how special it is and what it symbolizes, so it is sort of a connection between the two of us.

My little babe was lost at 12wks and thankfully my hospital works with an internment of angels program. After my d&c my little one was cremated along with others and sent to a cemetery with the Knights of Columbus. There are no permanent markers allowed for these types of burial in my state. But I took pictures of the surrounding land marks. I laid roses down on her due date with my daughter. I think it will be a yearly thing for me. I also made raised garden in the shape of cross to work in when I'm sad.
