Seem to pump the most later in day and evening last night pumped 7 oz - most ever! I've read you usually pump the most in the am but not for me - this am I pumped 1 oz and it was just drops from one side.
I am breast feeding but have a ton of milk in the mornings (to the point that LO can't eat because I drown him in milk spray when he tries). So I pump a bit out of both sides every morning before feeding him so that he can eat without losing an eye. I can get 6oz every morning by only pumping them down enough to stop the pain. I'm freezing it now, but ds1 wouldn't drink frozen milk so I am really hoping this LO will.
@LittlemsD curious how you have such a good stash - are you breastfeeding regularly and just freezing those 2 early morning sessions? How are you freezing - in a single milk bag? And how much - a serving at a time?
It seams I can't get more than an once out of a side at a time. Doesn't matter time if day. I pump after DD eats. I'm hoping once I'm pumping to replace meals when she is in daycare that it is significantly more so I'll have her meals for the next day. At this rate, I'll go through my freezer stash quickly.
I've only been pumping once a day. Usually in the mornings is the best for me. I get about 6-8 ounces. I freeze 3 ounces and put 3 ounces in the fridge for the husband to feed when necessary or when I go out in public to make a bit more convenient. I'll use the frozen when I go back to work.
How long are you ladies pumping for? In about 10 minutes I can only get 1 oz out of each side after a feeding, and then nothing else comes out. Does anyone else pump for only 10mins? More?

My pumps are pretty consistent now (3 weeks pp tomorrow, exclusively pumping). I pump every 5-6 hours for at least 20 minutes and get about 4 oz from each breast. If I use the heating pad on them I get 5. I average 40 oz a day and baby's only eating 20-25 a day so my stash is taking over the freezer. When I was feeding and then pumping for 15 minutes I was only getting 1.5-2 oz out of each breast.

When do you apply the heating pad? Before pumping, during?

I breastfeed on demand throughout the day and pump after he feeds at only the 2 and 5 am mark. I freeze in 4oz, single milk bags. I eat steel cut oatmeal for at least one meal a day, and take Lactation Plus supplement capsules by The Honest Co. (I get them at Target) daily. Even with DS1 who was premature I've never had supply issues. I often end up donating or giving milk away. I do occasionally pump during the day after he nurses but he has a tendency to cluster feed so I don't like to chance that.

I usually put it on about five minutes before I start pumping and leave it on the whole time. I can't really do anything else while I've got it on because it doesn't stay put very well, but it really helps with comfort and production. It's also great for clearing clogs.
