Grunting girl.

That's might be my nickname for dd. She grunts all the time. It's hilarious until I late her down to sleep at night. She grunted all night last night. Diaper changed and full belly. I ended up having to put her in her swing so I could get some sleep on the couch. Hope this doesn't happen again tonight!

Re: Grunting girl.

  • How cute! Mine grunts also, and she snores! The cutest little snores ever, we've started calling her Miss Piggy because of the noises she makes.

  • Mine grunt constantly. It got so bad, that he is now in his own room so we can get some shut eye. We had him in our room for 2 weeks, then we just couldn't take it anymore!!
It is pretty stinking cute though!
  • Mine just started doing this last night. 5.5 weeks old. I kept waking up thinking she wanted her pacifier but nope, sound asleep and just grunting. I may have to move her to her own room. I could not sleep through it.
  • Mine does this too!!! She grunts constantly. To the point that her face turns red. Sometimes it's stressful, sometimes it's funny. But it keeps me up all night! My Dr and midwfie say not to worry about it some babies just do it. Im excited for the day she grows out of it lol
  • We have the same thing going on with our little girl. It was driving us crazy during the night bc one of us would check on her every 5-10 mins. She is now sleeping in her room, I can still hear it on the monitor but I'm able to sleep through it. I feel bad that she's in her to room all by herself at 4 weeks but I need sleep to be decent momma the next day.
  • My girl grunts, squeaks, quacks (seriously it sounds like a duck), burps, farts, and growls. She is constantly making noise! Even when she's sleeping unless it's a nice deep sleep. Our little noise machine!
  • It's LO learning how to poop. It's actually called Grunting Baby Syndrome. They have to figure out to relax their pelvic floor and push at the same time to poop. They figure it out eventually and the grunting will stop.

  • I don't think she has issues pooping. She doesn't seem in pain or upset. Just making noise. When she does poop she doesn't struggle at all. But thanks for the article!
  • All night long last night.. Gah
  • My daughter grunts and stretches almost all night. It usually happens when she isn't in a deep sleep. Sometimes she cries out, but never wakes up. It is very hard to sleep through so she may have to transition to her own room. Sigh
  • My little one does the same. She usually grunts more after a feed and it usually means she's trying to bring wind up she always grunts a lot when she's stretches in her sleep. Doctor and midwife said its normal
