Storing Breast Milk

If you are going out for the day how to do you pack your breast milk so it lasts? Also is there anything to do so if we don't use it all we don't have to throw it out?

I would pack it in a lunchbox with an ice pack or two. As long as it stays on the ice it should be okay if not used.

I read on a website that when it comes to breastmilk we should use the three 6's. 6 hrs at room temperature . 6 weeks in the fridge and 6 months in the freezer. Depending on what time u plan to leave the house maybe feed LO just before. And take some milk out of the fridge when leaving. If its longer times maybe u can add a frozen milk pack. It can defrost on the way to ur destination. Hope this helps.

Funny some say 5s, some say 6s and some say 8s. I'm sure any of those is fine, but fridge is days, not weeks. So 6 hours at room temp, 6 days in the fridge and 6 months in freezer.
