do not be embarrassed, stds happen, and in no way does it mean youre a dirty person so do not feel guilty or embarrassed,
False positives are rare, but you can do a few things, first if youre in a committed relationship /monogamous, or have a partner your regularly have sex with, cease all sex until you can get back to your doctor
1. ask for a retest,
2. ask for information on being pregnant and passing on to baby
Chlamydia can stay dormant for 6 months before it is found in a test, do not worry it is easily treatable the first thing you need to do is stay calm and if youre in a monogamous relationship like being married, do not freak out on your partner.
If you feel comfortable enough to you can ask your partner to also get tested.
I would call the doctor back instantly, and in the mean time cease any sexual activity just in case and try to be calm
@asunna my dr did a swab today. It's hard I just had my daughter 7 months ago and now I'm almost eight weeks again, and my husband and. I are literally always together. It will ruin our relationship. I would never ever cheat on him.

why i said STAY CALM. do not jump to conclusions,
did you go back and do a second test today? or are you just hypothetically asking if you could get a false positive for this but havent actually got the test results back?
@asunna I had blood work done 2 weeks ago and then I guess they tested my urine for chlamydia and I didn't get a call or anything about it and then today I had a ob physical paps and she was oh and by the way you tested positive for chlamydia. And of course my husband was in there and just got up and walked out. I didn't even know it was possible to test for that through urine. And so she did a swab today but said I won't know for a week or so.
@lexybring93 , ah i see prob best to include all that in the original post now were getting to the root of the problem.
I would first call and ask to make a formal complaint. your doctor was very wrong to openly discuss that infront of your husband,
I generally would not take my husband into the room with me when i was about to get a pap thats just awkward, but either way she/he was wrong to do that.
So call and make a complaint with the medical board, HR , someone at reception will be able to forward you to the correct person
Wait for the next appointment to see the test results,
Youre going to have to talk to your husband at some point, Im sure right now hes either feeling frustrated, guilty or mixed emotions, like i said dont get too worked up and dont accuse him of anything.
Most STDS can be tested in urine or blood tests, chlamydia is one that can be tested in urine.
Ask yourself do you have any of the symptoms of chlamydia, or have you noticed any?
@asunna I don't have any symptoms and then she asked my husband and he said he doesn't either so I am very scared and worried. I love my husband more than anything this is really causing him anger to the point won't even talk to me. Just hoping it comes back negative
@lexybing93 chlamydia doesnt always show symptoms, just sometimes,
I would let your husband be alone to his own thoughts, it just happened today, when he feels like talking he will i know youre hurting right now but best to leave someone alone than push them
I wish you the best of luck in this, but just be prepared that it may not be a false positive. I would refrain from sexual intercourse until you find out next week in the new results
in the mean time i would file a formal complaint on the OB
Well, just from looking it up on Dr Google it looks like it can lay dormant for years, especially in men. Did your OB say anything about that? Could your OB talk with him and reassure him you didn't catch it recently?
I'm so sorry your going through this, I can't imagine how painful it must be for you.

I am most definitely questioning a practitioner giving test results in front of your partner?????
