have no idea what to expect

So yesterday's doctor appointment he told me I was 3.5 cm dialated and sent me to the hospital where they monitored me for a couple of hours with no changes. The nurse told me I was having irregular contractions but I have no idea I was feeling them or what I'm feeling. I am at 36 weeks and not due until November 1st this is my first baby. I told my boss I wasn't going into work anymore but I'm wondering if I did the right thing since I'm not feeling anything. I really wanted to save my time off to spend with my baby. any words of encouragement, what to expect, or any advice?

You do what you feel is right for you and baby. If your doctor didn't specifically order you on bed rest and if you feel fine, I don't see any reason to NOT work, but that's a decision you need to make based on how you/your doctor feels!

It depends on what your doctor and you think would be best. Did your doctor put you on bed rest? Or tell you to take it easy and stop working? If he/she didn't and you would like to continue working I wouldn't see anything wrong with it. It all depends on what you two decide to do, we don't really know what's been discussed.
