Hi ladies wrestling with insomnia. I have low anterior placenta and I am not feeling kicks. I felt a quickening but that was a month ago. Trying not to freak out. Anyone not feeling kicks yet in similar situation?
I have anterior placenta also, they didn't specify mine as high or low. I did feel kicks/movement here and there about 20w, not too noticeable. Now I'm 22 weeks and definitely feel them lower and on the sides some days more than others, however the farther i get along the more frequent they are. Like i said i feel them low and on the sides but not really around belly button area, so I'm guessing that's around where my placenta is. Hard to explain without showing in person. Sorry, hope this helps.
I have an anterior placenta that's on the left side. I've only ever felt any movement on the right side. I feel something most days, but sometimes it's not a whole lot or particularly noticeable. Other days, I feel a lot of movement. I think it depends on how the baby is positioned in relation to my placenta. Have you talked to you doctor? They may have better information for your specific situation. You may also consider investing in a home Doppler. I feel that eases my mind during times when I haven't felt any movement for a while.
I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow and don't think I've felt anything. I'm plus sized so I've read that it's in the range of normal not to feel it yet. I have a home Doppler that I find the heart beat really easy. Baby is almost always in a similar spot. I have another ultrasound tomorrow (yay!) so I'm going to ask if there is a reason why I haven't felt it yet.
I'm 21 weeks with an anterior placenta as well, STM. I've been feeling kicks but it's only ever on my right side really low almost next to my hip. I'm guessing my placenta is on the left side/middle because I have never felt anything there yet. Movement for me at least is definitely not consistent yet and if I'm not paying attention or busy doing something I will miss feeling movement at all for pretty much the whole day. If you're worried you could always call your doctor and see what they say.
I have an anterior placenta too and a STM. From 17 weeks until this week (22 weeks) I felt something every day. Then from Sunday to Tuesday of this week I felt nothing. They sleep a lot though and I'm sure some movements aren't as strong as others. And as others have said, mostly on the sides and bottom. Never really feel anything directly in the center.
For a long time I thought I hadn't felt anything until they became a bit stronger. Then, I kind of realized that I'd been feeling that for some time, I just didn't know what it was. As a FTM I had nothing to compare it to, and I felt like everything in my stomach felt new and strange so it was hard to distinguish the kicking/movement from regular digestion at times.
I second the doppler suggestion for peace of mind!
I have a regular placenta or whatever the term is lol, and I feel little to no kicks as well. I'm 20+1. At my last appt I was told you won't feel regular kicks until closer to 28 weeks and that's also when you should start doing kick counts
21w5d here and I have a low-lying anterior placenta! I think she likes to chill on my left side because that's where you stayed my entire A/S. But, lately I've felt some quickening and little bumps on my right side when she decides to be on that side. So I can only assume my placenta hangs out more where she likes to hang out.

Thank you Ladies. I think I need to get a Doppler. My u/s isn't until Monday and its the longest wait ever. What kind of Doppler did you buy - is it easy to use?
I feel nausea sometimes like she woke up and is starting her day but no jabs. I want my placenta to MOVE UP right now.
21 weeks 3 days, FTM. I started feeling something from two days ago. Although my doctor didn't say anything about the position of my placenta so I guess it is regular. I asked why I didn't feel movement in my A/S, the technician said it was actually normal to not feel anything until 22-24 weeks, especially for a FTM.

I have a Sonoline B. It was like $60 and yes it is easy to use once you get the hang of it!
I also have a sonoline B- I got it at a consignment sale for 20 bucks.
ETA- there are lots of great youtube videos that helped me figure it out. At first I was mistaking my own heart beat as the baby and couldn't figure out why it was so low. Then I finally found it and I was like ohhh ok- that makes a lot more sense. I was looking too high and too far off to the side.
I actually just made an appt to have one of those elective gender reveal ultrasounds done tonight to put my mind at ease. I feel silly but it will be worth it.
@suznyc1 if it soothes your mind anymore, my friend had a baby blue last December and she said that even when she started feeling him, she never did any kick counts like doctors talk about. Some babies just aren't as active (or easy to feel) as others.

Glad your baby is going great! Just wanted to throw it out there that when I told my doctor at 20 weeks that I was feeling plenty of kicks, she seemed almost surprised that I was. She gave me the definite impression that many women don't feel anything for several more weeks after 20, anterior placenta or otherwise. So if anyone is worried out there, don't be!
