After a long and scary 37 weeks, my little guy arrived safe and sound at 10:01am on 10/7...by planned csection under general anesthesia.
Though all of the meds made him pretty groggy and he needed some help breathing at first, he is doing well and has been under close supervision in the special care nursery.
I was taken to the ICU where I'm spending 24 hrs also under close supervision (but doing well so far!).
It's really hard not being with him but they set up a camera in his room so I can watch him and husband on my tv.
8 years of infertility.
Finding out we were pregnant (after giving up on "trying").
Finding out I had cancer at 12 weeks (by phone call on the drive out of state to surprise our families of the good news).
Finding out said rare cancer was malignant with a 50% mortality rate for pregnant women.
Then months of fear and anxiety....
But, we made it. And we're ok. And in 6 weeks they'll remove the cancer and I can just enjoy "normal" life with my miracle baby boy.
Looking at his sweet little face, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
♡♡♡
For future search inquiries the cancer is a malignant Pheochromocytoma and the symptoms are generally misdiagnosed as preeclampsia as the tumor secretes mass amounts of adrenaline into your system causing blood pressure and heart rate problems. It's very rare, but i figure I'll leave this here in case anyone is ever in my situation looking for resources and hope.

As difficult as things were the past few months I know and am beyond grateful for how extremely fortunate we've been. My heart goes out to all who've experienced loss and heartache along this journey.
Thank you guys again. I've learned a lot here and look forward to continuing to use the bump!
