i am wanting to transition my baby from pumped milk bottle fed to formula. My busy schedule doesn't work with pumping and the time I do have I want to enjoy my family, pets, and have time for school and work as well. What is the best way you ladies have tried to switch your baby. I have milk still, and plan to just cut back pumping, and slowly mix in formula and milk. I bought enfamil newborn.
How much formula vs milk did you do and for how long?
How did your baby react to it?
What will my babies poop look like through the switch? Or what should it look like?
Going to call pediatrician tomorrow but want to know what you mommas did.
My baby is 11 days old.
Re: Pumped milk to formula
I could imagine that exclusively pumping would get old after a while. My extra advice would be- don't cut back on your pumping until you've found a formula that works well with your baby's tummy and you've made sure there aren't any allergies etc. my former boss weaned her son completely to formula, dried up, then found out he was allergic to just about everything and had to feed him neutramogen (very $$$) and it was too late to go back. So just figure that out before you let your supply slip. Then you'll be confident and it will work well. Good luck!
