How did your appointment go overall? It was more like an interview. She checked my BP and urine, weighed me and then handed me a stack of papers and reviewed them with me. Lots of info to think about.
Any ultrasound or doppler? US tomorrow for some spotting. They don't do them in office.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? She covered everything with me and was great. It's still slowly sinking in that this is actually happening but I wrote down as much as I could.
It was great! MH was able to be there for the U/S and I got a lot of interesting information. I love my new OB and we are totally on board with so many things already! One drawback was that she asked if a nurse practitioner student could observe and I said of course...but it was a coworker! @-) Nothing like having someone you work with checking out your hoo-ha!
Any ultrasound or doppler?
U/S (external one KILLED because of the adhesions from my CS scar so I begged for a transvaginal which is so much more comfortable!) We got print outs of our nugget and MH started tearing up when he saw the dance party LO was having in there! Strong heart beat of 171.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
Yes! She was so super knowledgeable about pre-e and how to avoid it. I am starting a baby aspirin regimen and low-impact activity (swimming) to help get in better shape and lessen the chance of PIH. She also talked about sperm allergy being linked to pre-e so I am going to look that up (just not at work...IT may have a few questions for me if I google "Sperm allergy"). She is also having me meet with a maternal-fetal health specialist to talk about other ways I can make this the healthiest pregnancy possible. I feel so much better cared for than with my last pregnancy where I was basically just on my own. Now, I feel like they are keeping a much closer eye on me and baby so hopefully we can start labetalol early if my BP starts creeping up.
@laurenmdrn16 this is great news! I know you were worried about this pregnancy because of health concerns with pre-e and this sounds like your doctor is taking a proactive approach.
Something you had posted last week actually got me thinking about making sure my husband is aware of my own priorities health wise and the fact that I need to make it very clear what my preferences are.
@buzzbee614 Thanks! I am totally relieved and felt like our personalities really meshed which I didn't realize was so important to me.
It is so important to talk with your SO about what you want and DON'T want from the pregnancy/delivery. I know MH was at a loss when I was unable to make decisions last time and they were asking him questions. This time, I am clearly spelling it out with my ONE OB and MH. My OB actually seemed relieved when I was very direct and that MH knew the drill as well. Basically, we are doing a planned, scheduled, calm, and organized RCS. If I go into labor early, we will have EVERY medical intervention, testing, and assessment possible. There will be no "wait and see" or beating around the bush. I know this is definitely not everyone's ideal birth plan, but for us it is perfect. Get in and get out with a healthy baby and mama!
How did your appointment go overall? Great! Chatted with the RE about our left-over embryos (they're gonna hold on to 'em for six months, then ship them off to long-term storage, so when we're ready to bake more babies, we can get 'em delivered), the process of transitioning from him to regular care, our ultrasound next week, and he even proactively offered me a two-week ultrasound followup before I transition to the midwife. So I get a 7w scan and a 9w scan! Hooray!
Any ultrasound or doppler? Not yet.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yup, basically everything I wanted to know! I'm feeling really good about things.

How did your appointment go overall? It was fine. It was a "class" (which I didn't know when I made the appointment) on all the blood work, what to expect at your appointments, FAQs, do's and don'ts of early pregnancy, etc.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Nope
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? This nurse has been so awesome to me. I've chatted with her a few times because of my fears of having another MC. She was so pleasant in person and gave me permission to call and ask for her anytime I had any questions or concerns.
Funny story though- she noticed where I lived and pointed out that her parents live right around the corner. She asked if we had a party Labor day weekend (which we did) and said her and her sister were jealous because we sounded like we were having so much fun. We were doing karaoke and the nurse described my BIL to a T. LOL Small world.
It was awesome! We were worried because on our last appointment they did a dating ultrasound but couldn't find a fetal pole. (baby must have been too young!) -- but yesterday they were able to show us the little blob and the heart beating away at 118 beats per minute!! It's truly amazing and breathtaking when you see it!!
Any ultrasound or doppler?
Yes! We had an ultrasound -- still haven't been able to "hear" the heartbeat, but we were able to see it flickering on the screen!!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
She answered all of my questions and put any of my fears to rest. Reassured me that everything looked good and that my baby is right on track as of right now!!
How far along are you? 8 Weeks- 5 days- though measuring at 8 weeks 3 days she's keeping my original due date.
How did your appointment go overall? Great! I love my doctor she's so relaxed.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Yup, a transvaginal US - got to see our baby and hear the heartbeat (168). It was awesome- and has relieved a huge amount of anxiety I was having.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yup, my hubby and I had a list and she answered all of them. She did tell me I could have any tea I want within moderation which makes me SO HAPPY.
How far along are you? I was 8w1d but ultrasound yesterday dated me at 7w1d
How did your appointment go overall? I have been soo soo sick and nauseas and anxious for the first trimester to be over so I'm bummed to be kicked back a week
Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound, regular
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Doctor was pretty much horrified I was still breastfeeding my 20 month old!
How did your appointment go overall? My appointment went awesome yesterday! I absolutely love my doctor! He was funny and down to earth and helpful! My actual appointment wasn't supposed to be until the 15th but I called them to see if they received my insurance card and they said they had an opening for yesterday! I was so pumped!
Any ultrasound or doppler? I had a transvaginal ultrasound and it went good! Baby is right on track based off my LMP and MH named baby our little panda. My DS says Pamba so that's what we say!BPM 162! It was such a relief to see baby! I also got my flu shot and today some blood drawn and urine sample at the lab.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? All of our questions were answered. We get 3 ultrasounds!! We are team green so I'm hoping they don't slip up and tell us the baby's sex! Next appointment in one month!
How far along are you? LMP: 7w 2days Ultrasound: 5 weeks 3 Days
How did your appointment go overall? Bleh. Kaiser wanted me to come in based off of my LMP. By LMP I would be 7 weeks and 2 days. I have 35 day cycles so I knew going into yesterday's appointment that I am not that far along and we might not possibly see much. Ultrasound came back with 5 weeks and 3 days, so of course we couldn't see much and they were not able to find a heartbeat. I go back in two weeks to make sure there is growth. I've been sitting here doing the math to make sure that 5 weeks sounds about right and it does. I ovulated on 9/5/2015 and got my positive on 9/15/2015. So I'm not trying not to worry too much.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Transvaginal ultrasound.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Didn't really have any questions or concerns.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Not yet, but I got a script for the first trimester screening US for between 11-12 weeks.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes, we came up with a game plan to decide vbac vs rcs, and she further advised me in weaning while pregnant and what to expect for breast changes. I got my flu shot while I was there too!
According to LMP 8 weeks, but I think I'm more like 7
How did your appointment go overall? It was just the very boring appointment of pee in a cup, draw blood, and get a packet of information, etc. Nothing exciting. Although I do think they need to make those cups that you pee in bigger. I swear I am so clumsy, I peed all over my hand trying to put the stupid cup in just the right spot. Some pee did make it into the cup though ) Probably tmi, but funny in retrospection. I think this explains why I used Red Solo Cups when dipping all the HPTs in the pee lol
Any ultrasound or doppler? Not today, but an appointment was set up to do a dating (transvaginal) ultrasound. I'm very happy that they got that appointment set for tomorrow! I thought I was going to have to wait forever. Happy and nervous! Will update tomorrow after we see our little turd
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I think I asked too many questions and in asking my questions, I referenced books and reputable sites I had gotten my info from. The nurse has now banned me from Google, and reading books, and has banned my DH from buying me pregnancy related books from the Good Will. )
EDIT: Had dating ultrasound today 10/8 and I am exactly 7weeks and 2 days. I even guess my due date right on the bump. Due May 25th. Heartbeat at 162.
