1st Trimester

8 weeks.. Yoga?

I am 8wks 2 days.. I have been thinking about trying some yoga classes. The prenatal ones. Has anyone done this? Is it beneficial? I'm looking for something to help relax me yet give me something to do from time to time that's healthy and safe. Thoughts?

  • There are a lot of resources for prenatal yoga. You should get your doctor or midwife's OK before starting any new exercise routine, but yoga is generally considered safe. As your pregnancy progresses, you'll need to avoid positions that require lying on your back.

  • I haven't done it, but from the research I've done on prenatal yoga, there are many benefits and relatively low risk.
