  • It sounds like she is asking if it's wrong if she doesn't let people babysit her children.
  • I shall answer you question with a question ,

How can you be wrong if it feels right ?

  • The nurse who did our baby care class said that as a general rule, your infant should not be going out before 8 weeks with the exception of doctor visits. I dunno how realistic that is and I will probably not follow it exactly. However, to answer your question, it's your kid, do what you think best.

Personally, I think that's frigging outrageous! I would go totally stir crazy. Besides, I'm of the opinion that exposing baby to some germs (like going to see family members, not going to the mall or airport) is crucial to help build their immune systems. Plus, if you're breastfeeding, baby is getting all of your antibodies, which are already in place to any viruses you make cross paths with when visiting people you spend a lot of time with during pregnancy.

I can't get past the profile pic.

@Kmohney1 how do you actually open it? I was trying to figure it out (it's hard to see it on here) but I'm just on my iPhone.

  • @ashleywuli click on her profile, it should be larger when you get to that screen, not sure if it'll be too enlarged on the mobile app though

@BowWowBowie it won't:( it won't even show me the picture on the mobile app if I click on the name.

Our nurse recommended the same thing. She said that's what most pediatricians say- to limit your babies outside contact for 8 weeks. Going to the store (with baby in a carrier) or walks is fine but try not to take them to overly crowded, germy spots. Makes sense to me, although I get that some people don't necessarily have that luxury.

I totally agree. I mean, don't have a play date with kids who have chicken pox or anything but I think realistically they're going to have exposure to minor every day germs.

What about babies with siblings? You gonna keep the siblings off school/away from the baby for 8 weeks?! It's not realistic. I know some people do this for religious reasons, which is a separate thing but for a normal, healthy baby i don't know why you'd want to stay indoors for 8 weeks!?
  • KEGELS!

I lurk. I snark. I offer sound advice if you're not BSC. You may not like me. I'm okay with it.
