  First, no I have not tried it and don't have any advice. But I did hear at one point something about goats milk as a formula replacement or supplement... Not sure, but it might be something to consider. I wonder if maybe fish products (prepared formulas usually have some fish oil for DHA) may be contributing? Just a thought. I know this comment wasn't exactly useful, but I hope you get to find a solution!

  Thank you. We looked into a lot of the stuff like that and noticed that even the hypoallergenic formula we were trying had coconut oil sunflower oil and things of that nature and when I made the home made one I left both out and he hasn't had a reaction yet. It tastes like Greek yogurt and is about the same consistency when cool but I don't want to do this long term and he refuses to eat any type of other food right now. Doctor told me to wait a month for two to try solids again. :-( I'm hoping to figure it out because my doctor was no help with this.

  I'd look into a new pediatrician if you aren't feeling the love with your current one . Babies need to get the majority of their nutrition from nutritionally complete formula (or breastmilk) until 1 year of age. Baby foods (even healthy fruits and veggies) are really more for skill development at this age than for nutrition, and there is a window of time to introduce them (between 6-9months) without concerning about oral aversion (so if you wait a little bit more while finding a formula that works for him, you aren't missing out on anything yet). Since our little ones in this group are only 6 months old it would concern me to have your little one on this homemade formula for another 6 months. By omitting the oil, the total fat content is less and babies need adequate fat for brain development.
  I do feel for you that none of the formulas you've tried have worked to prevent the rash! If it's not the milk (since there is milk in this homemade recipe), what does your pediatrician say is causing the rash? I'd maybe ask for a referral to a specialist (whatever seems most appropriate? gastro? Allergy? Derm?) have you tried elecare or neocate? Just my two cents.

  Please, please, PLEASE DO NOT feed your baby homemade formula. There's a reason baby formula is highly regulated and inspected. Look into changing pediatricians or getting a referral to a specialist instead.
