Caroline Rose EDD 9/21 DOB 9/23 7lb 11oz, 19" long
Scheduled induction 9/23 but went into labor on own that day. Labored for roughly 11 hrs total. Pushed 3.25 hrs followed by a C-section. Mom and baby doing great. We are in love with our peanut.
Brynn Catherine 7 lbs 13 oz. Due Sept 30/ Born Sept 24
Repeat C-section scheduled for Sept 23, however got a call the night before to cancel due to a water pipe break in the ER, so after a long day found out it was taken care of and we were scheduled for the next day. Much calmer environment than my emergency section with dd1. The spinal tap was not bad, worked perfectly. Baby girl didn't want to breath right away after she was born, but within 10 minutes she was doing fine on her own on room air so she was placed on my chest for skin to skin. Our hospital stay was great, the nurses were so amazing and Brynn is doing great nursing. I have found that this csection has been much easier to recover from and the pain is less than my first.
Due date 09/25 Birthdate. 9/19 Birth weight 8lb 7oz Went to get induced on 9/18 @5, first balloon was inserted and at 9ish dialated to a 5 after already being 2cm -4 50% if u know what I mean. After that.pitocin was started so contractions started coming and I opted for pain meds which made me feel high but painless, pitocin was then upped and I opted for the epidural. I started dialated more quickly as the baby started coming down and I had her at 10:05 am next day which was 9/19 ... being induced was a longer and stronger process but a great experience being that I was tired of being pregnant and thank God I had her at 39 weeks and 1 day because she was 8lb 7oz...
Lucille Pearl 'Lucy' Due 9/16 Born 9/21 2:10 pm 6 lbs 15.3 oz
Baby Lucy was 5 days late. My husband and I watched Sunday football games and brainstormed how to resist the inevitable induction threat. I had mild contractions 7 minutes apart for the day. They felt just like BH and were on a schedule but I didn't realize it was early labor until looking back. I went to bed at 12:30 am to wake up at 1 in active labor. My contractions were 2:30 apart and I got the bloody show about 3:30 am. Water broke 20 minutes later with meconium so the doula had us meet her at the hospital. Upon admission I was a 6. I was at 10 by 9:00 am. I labored down until 10:30 when I started pushing. 4 hours of pushing total and Lucy was here. Many issues to deal with but the bottom line is I have a healthy, beautiful daughter and a greater, deeper love for my husband.
John Charles EDD: 9/28 Born: 9/28 6lb 7.8oz 18 inches
Started having irregulat contractions on Saturday and they continued to be irregular but more frequent on Sunday. I was hoping the lunar eclipse would work its magic and around 11pm, contractions were timeable. Some were 7 minutes apart, some were 2...all over the place! At midnight I told my husband I wanted to try to get some sleep and we aimed for 2am.
At 1am I woke up to contractions that were getting stronger and I went to the bathroom and saw a little blood. Poor husband was still sound asleep but I knew it was go time. Called my doc and she said to come in.
In the 20 minute drive from our house to the hospital my contractions went from unpleasant to unbearable. Got admitted and an epidural even though I was only 2.5 cm dilated. I seriously want to erect a shrine to anesthesiologists - the epidural worked great and I got some sleep. I was checked again after a couple hours and was at 8cm....an hour later baby was ready to go. I had mentally prepared to push for at least am hour....2 contractions and 4 minutes later we heard our little man's first cries. He's healthy and starting to catch on to breastfeeding (Although it is a learning experience for us both! ) we love him so much!
Ani V. EDD 9/16/15 DOB 9/24/15 7 pounds 6 ounces 20 inches
I was hoping little peanut would arrive on her own and wanted to avoid an induction. My plan was for an unmedicated birth and I heard it was much harder to do that when induced. She was stubborn, so I reported the hospital on the 23rd. I was barely a centimeter dilated and only 50% effaced.
They gave me a pill, every four hours, to thin out my cervix. I started feeling contractions throughout the night and was sure I had made significant progress. On the 24th, I was barely 2 centimeter dilated but cervix had thinned. They put the balloon to help with dilation at 10:45am. When my contractions were not to their liking (too far apart) they started me on pitocin and said I would likely deliver on Friday, a day later. At that point, I wasn't sure I could keep with my plan to deliver without pain meds. I was really discouraged. I decided to ride out the contractions for as long as I could. At around 4pm, the balloon fell out, which implied I was maybe 4 centimeters dilated. Since I knew I was in for a long haul I opted not to get my cervix checked because I was on the brink of asking for epidural.
I labored for one more hour, when my water broke at 5pm. At 5:30pm, I felt like I had to poop, but the nurse informed me that since I only felt that way during contractions, it didn't mean I was ready. I insisted on getting checked and the midwife was surprised that I was fully dilated! I pushed for 10 mins or so and baby girl made her debut. I had a small first degree tear, which is healing well.
The contractions were painful, but during the breaks in between, I kept reminding myself that the pain will pass and that it was only temporary. Don't be afraid of being induced, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Good luck to you expecting moms.
Sorry this ended up being way longer than expected.
I went to bed Friday night thinking things felt a little different & sure enough I woke up Saturday at 1:30am (after about 1.5 hours of sleep) I had some mild cramping but it was enough to keep me up. My husband came to bed at around 2:30 and my cramps were getting a bit worse. He slept & I started timing. They were about 7-10 apart and I decided they were actual contractions. Got up, had a snack, took a shower & woke Hubby up because they were coming 3 minutes apart. We gathered our stuff and went to the hospital. Got there around 6:30am. Got checked in and into a room really quickly. Got IV fluids and antibiotics (gbs+) and then checked and was 4cm and about 60%. My husband was awesome at helping me through contractions. My water broke during a contraction, no gush, but it just kept leaking. I tried to labor in the tub for a while, but ended up opting for the epidural. At that point I was 6cm & 80%. The epidural went really well and was AMAZING! We both got to nap for a little. Labor slowed down a bit so they gave me pitocin. Started upping that every once in awhile. I was checked again and was 8.5cm & 90%. 2 minutes later a ton of nurses ran in. Between the cervix check and pitocin my body went into constant contractions, mercer's hear rate dropped down to 80! They had me flipping sides, on my hands and knees, gave me oxygen & then a shot of muscle relaxers to stop my contractions. It was scary few minutes, but everything turned out fine. 16 hours into labor and I was ready to push. I didn't really feel the urge because he was still so high, but we started fairly slow. The top of his head was at 0 but the rest of his head was at -1/-2 (he came out with a super cone head). Pushed for 3 long hard hours and he was finally here! They immediately put him on me and started patting him off. He pinked up almost immediately. He's the cutest baby I've ever seen! Waited just a few seconds for the cord to stop pulsing and then daddy got to cut it. I needed quite a few stitches, so they took mercer across the room to do his apgar and check his heart rate since it was still just a tiny bit off. My epidural had really started to wear off so I felt the stitches, not fun! But I could watch the nurses do all their checks from across the room. Daddy stayed by baby's side until they brought him back to me a few minutes later. We got some good skin to skin time in before switching rooms and introducing him to grandparents. Three days later and he is just the sweetest little guy! He's eating and sleeping like a champ! And he's got the softest cutest little cry that I've ever heard! We just love him so much! I still can't believe he's actually mine!
Scheduled an induction bc nothing had worked before 40 weeks, went in 9/28 @ 6:30a, started pit at 730a (2&80) by noon was still 2&80 they broke my water, I got on the birthing ball, at 220 was 4.5 and 80, got back on the ball, 320 was 5.5 and 90 I asked for stadol bc I was affraid if I didn't I wouldn't get it...it took the edge off! At 4:20 I'm sure I said some very not nice things and BEGGED FOR DRUGS, 4:21:45 I said she's coming! And 4:22 she was here!! 4:23 my dr walked in the room
Apparently inductions are supposed to make things worse, I feel like it was an incredible experience...and I have 2 previous births I had an epi with and I feel like you get to prepare yourself more for what will happen when you don't go in labor naturally.
Went to my doctor for my 40 week check-up on 9/23 everything was fine as it has been for the entire pregnancy. My doctor asked my self and my husband if I was interested in being induced on Friday because he would be working at the hospital all weekend. Without hesitation I said yes! My doctor travels between several hospitals and wanted to be there to deliver my baby because my doctor delivered me! So Thursday night I checked into the hospital and was put on cervidil at 9:30 pm. I didn't sleep much (even though the Giants finally won) the baby's heart rate monitor kept losing the baby's heart beat because he was so active and the nurse would come in every 15 mins to fix it. By Friday morning they took the cervidil out and started me on pitocin to induce labor. Every 45 mins or so a nurse would come in and up the levels at first the contractions weren't too bad, my period cramps were worse! Then around 3pm I figured I would opt for the epidural. Got my epidural at 4pm. By 6pm I told the nurse I was scared to open my legs I thought the baby was going to come shooting out!! By 6:20 they had me start pushing...I pushed for 5 contractions and Owen entered the world at 6:39pm!! My husband and I are so totally in love with this guy!!!
Adeel A Aleey Edd 23rd sept DOB 29th sept 3.29kg It was a long ride, but finally we are here, labor is such a story to tell, epidural did the magic though, am soo inlove with my baby adeel, we love u so much
Ada Michael Team Green went Pink! EDD: 9/28 Born: 9/29 @7:06pm 7lbs 2oz, 20"
We decided to induce because my was headed out of town for the next 5+ days. I'd been sitting at 4cm and 50% effaced for at least a week with inconsistent contractionsand Dr. thought inducing by breaking my water might kickstart my labor.
We were supposed to start at 5am but everyone else was in L&D thanks to the Supermoon, so we had to wait. We finally got in at 10:30 and my dr. broke my water around 11:45. We let my body try to get contractions on its own for 2 hours before starting pitocin.
My dr. was super supportive of me wanting this to be as natural as possible, so we did a half dose of pitocin and my body caught on pretty quickly. At 6pm, I had made it to 6cm and 100% without meds but wanted to move to water. While my tub was getting filled, I was suddenly in transition and couldn't leave the bed. I was pushing with a nurse when my dr. came in and about 10 minutes later, little Ada appeared! I have a 2nd degree tear but so far it isn't too bad...definitely want to sit on extra padding!
I had really wanted to go med-free but was very close to caving, and I probably would have if I hadn't steamrolled into pushing!
Ada is pretty fabulous and an absolute darling. We are working on BF but she is a champion pooper!
Successful VBAC! Went into hospital sep 23 (Due to GD, borderline high BP & previous c-section) to see of we could use a cooks catheter & break water to induce (as VBAC can't use meds usually) got there at 11:30am @ 3 cm dilated - too much for the catheter. Dr broke water @ 3 pm. Irregular contractions until 8 pm then the hard ones started. 11:30pm was 4 cm fully effaced - by 12 am contractions were super intense & painful - got epidural. Within 45 mins was 10 cm and had urge to push - pushed for 3 hours! Epidural was about 50% effective - felt everything but definitely took edge off!
Still sore a week later but happy I got my VBAC!! So in love with our little girl!
Florence Anne EDD Sept 29th Born Sept 30th 4:07 am 7lbs 14 Oz 20 in
After over a week of prodromal labor started having contractions (real ones!) on my due date. Went to the birth center about 10:30. Little girl was born in the bathtub at 4:07 am. All natural birth. There were a few moments when i thought i couldnt do it but so glad we stuck it out. I did have a 2nd degree tear but otherwise uneventful birth (well all births are eventful but you know what I mean). At one point the midwife, dh and I were all falling asleep between contractions. We were home by 10:30 or so. Baby is nursing well. Couldn't be happier.
Scheduled for induction at 9:30 am. Work up at 5:30 am with contractions that pretty much started at 3 mins apart. Got to the hospital at 8:40am. Contractions were rough. They went ahead and checked me and I was 8cm. They then started rushing around to get me my epidural. After what seemed like forever I finally got it. After 4 pushes he was born at 12:22pm. 2nd degree tear but so far not that bad. He's perfect! And big brother is already saying "my baby" and worried about him. Ready for bed but of course he's ready for his first big feeding but at least I know he nursed. Guess little boy got the memo about needing to head out
6.2 lbs, 19" long--a pretty good size for his gestation!
George Thomas was born just after midnight on 9/4, the day after our 9th wedding anniversary. The doctors let me be induced early because of terrible obstetric cholestasis (also known as ICP, or intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy). Had an epidural (of course) and wonderfully attentive nursing staff. George was breathing too shallowly on his own when he came out so they brought him immediately to the NICU, but he came home after a week and is doing spectacularly now. His parents, big brothers and sister are madly in love with him.
Water broke at 7:30 am on the 27th, contractions started shortly after. Ended up getting epidural which was a life saver. Our little girl was born at 5:57 pm. Big adjustment to mommy life but we're figuring it out day by day.
Team Green Turns Blue! Thomas Abraham EDD 9/20 Birthday 9/29 8.1 oz and 20.5 inches
After 9 days of wondering when I could get induced in Pope induced mania Philadelphia, I was admitted on Monday 9/28. We went through two rounds of cervadil, foley ballon, pitocin, epidural, Quick opening of cervix and the epidural wearing off, excruciating pain at midnight, new epidural at 230 and relief. I started pushing at 415 and baby Tommy was born at 4:58 am. We are in love.
Tori Jade Fanner EDD: 19 September BORN: 16 September 3.775 kilograms
Our precious baby girl was born at 39 weeks and 4 days. She had not dropped/engaged and was still sitting very high. In the last few weeks of my pregnancy, she had kept changing from anterior to posterior to anterior again. The doctor had said that she was most likely not fitting into my pelvis and had been bobbing around in me, trying her best to move into position. I went for my scan on the Monday and doc suggested a csec for the Wednesday. I had wanted to go for natural but had prayed all along for God's will and was happy with the turn out. In the end all that attest is the safe arrival of your precious. My csec was lovely and I felt relaxed and was well looked after.
Introducing Tori Jade
Born on the 16th of September 2015 at 11.14 am. Weighing in at 3.775kgs and 49cms (that measurement may have been recorded incorrectly as at 6 days new, she was measured and was 51cms- so it is highly unlikely that's she grew 2 cm in 6 days.)
Tori means bird in Japanese. I fell in love with the name when I met a special little girl named Tori when I taught at Pinocchio Pre Primary School.
Hubby and I have loved the name since then and had agreed to name our daughter Tori one day.
Her middle name, Jade, is in honour of my late father. Dad's middle name was James and we felt that Jade was our female version of the name James. Our Jade- our precious stone!
Welcome to our world Tori Jade! You are so loved, treasured and we are so blessed to call you ours. You are perfect to us and we promise to take care of you always. May God always bless you and keep you safe for us and us safe for you. Love you our little Bunny.
Thanks moms for all the support throughout my pregnancy. I was more of a silent member and only asked a few questions- but I read and learnt a lot from this group xxx God Bless you all and your perfect little bambinos. Xxx
We were induced on Tuesday but after two days hardly anything was happening so we had an emergency c-section. We are so in love with our little man. 3 years of trying and IVF was worth all the pain.
Thomas Karim Place EDD 09/27 Born 09/25 6lbs 8oz 51cm
Induced due to fainting spells. Went in night before and 27 hours later baby tommy came into the world. Opted for epidural when I was 3.5 dilated but still felt so so sick throughout all of labor ( I don't think pitocin and all the meds worked that well with my body). Anyway ended up getting a fever and baby's heart rate kept dropping. I was so close to being c section but after an hour and a half of pushing he finally was born! it's been a tough recovery but baby is out of the nicu and doing well.
He's perfect in every way! I was induced early due to pre-e on top of the puppp rash. I could barely stand to be in my skin anymore So even though I never wanted to be induced I am so thankful the way this worked out. I labored on pitocin fit 22 hours then decided after no change to bring him by c-section. He was stuck behind my pelvis they discovered so it all worked out in the end! Congrats to everyone!
After spending most of Thursday thinking it was just Braxton hicks, my contractions came on strong at 10:20 pm. By midnight they were 3 minutes apart and I was 7 cm dilated. After an almost completely natural birth Luka was born at 5:17 am. I had to be numbed at the end, due to him being stuck and the dr having to use forceps. I'm so glad little man is here finally. Even if he turned up a week late
I woke up on Friday (9/25) at 41 weeks and thought I was feeling contractions. I had a regularly scheduled NST and OB check up so I went to the hospital around 1pm. At my NST appt, they confirmed I was having regular contractions three minutes apart. They told me to come back to L&D when I was crying from the pain.
Went to my OB appt and had her strip the membranes again and she stretched me from 2cm to 3cm. She said if I didn't go into labor that night, to show up to L&D the next morning since she was working and she would just induce me. As we were about to leave, the nurse came in and said I had protein +1 in my urine sample. My doctor said she was going to check me into L&D at that point but I convinced her to let me walk around the mall for a few hours first. She agreed!
We went to the mall, got some lunch, did some baby clothes shopping and then when I got uncomfortable from the contractions we headed to the hospital around 5pm. The worst part for me was trying to get the IV in! Apparently I have tiny, uncooperative veins. Add that to a needle phobia and it was all bad. They stuck me four times trying to get it in and collapsed one of my veins before giving up and putting it in my hand. After that, things were easier. I tried to labor naturally for a bit but when things weren't progressing they put me on Pitocin and gave me an epidural. Best thing ever! I couldn't feel my right leg, it kept flopping around lol. My water broke naturally some time in the middle of the night and I started to push around 8:15am? My baby girl arrived at 8:56am!
We didn't get released until Monday morning but it's been great being home! She's a breastfeeding champ and has already gained a pound. She's still tiny though. All of her newborn clothes are too big! It'll be winter before she can fit in them lol. Hopefully there's not too many mommas left waiting to deliver their babies!
Isla was born at home after a fast labour. I was in active labour for about four hours. Pushed for 30 minutes and she arrived. All very surprising for this FTM. Had a great support team which kept everything calm and positive.
I really enjoyed these announcements while waiting for Isla. Hope everyone is doing well.
Went in for my 40 week appointment figuring I would be the same 1cm and long I had been for a month. I was having right kidney pain Which wasn't abnormal for me. I got checked and I was 3 cm the midwife did a stretch and sweep and I went to 4cm and my contractions started getting stronger right away. She decided to admit me and start me on antibiotics bc of previous short labors. After 4 hrs I was 6cm and she broke my water to help the process along. I got contractions still coming every 4 minutes but they were similar to the ones I had been having for months. 5 hrs later my contractions became unbearable and I couldn't help but be vocal haha and I knew she would be here soon. The midwife checked and I was 8cm and still -2. I got out of the tub and asked for a shot of pain meds. The midwife decided to check me during a contraction to see what was happening because she could tell I was in a lot of pain but baby was still so high. She did and saw that baby was quickly moving down and was coming now so no meds : (. After a few more contractions and three minutes of pushing baby Vivi was here! Definitely my most painful labor as she was bigger and I don't remember having the shakes like I did but she was well worth it. Thanks for all the help and support along the way!
Lydia Eve EDD: 9/26 Born: 9/21 Weight: 8 pounds 3 ounces Length: 22 inches Time: 8:46 am
We had a scheduled c-section so I went in at 5:30 am and we started the prep. I was on a monitor for about 20 minutes then the nurses came in and put in the IV which was painful they blew out a vein which is still hurting and bruised. Finally they walked me over to the OR where the anesthesiologist had some trouble with the spinal so they almost had to put me under but they finally got it. I cried a little and got nauseous for a minute but then I was calm. My MIL went in with me which helped a lot. it seemed like no time past by when the doctor held my little Sugarlump over the partition for me to see her. I was so happy to hear and see her after what seemed like such a long 39 weeks. She took to latching right away and two days later we went home. My 7 year old which had been worried we would not love him once she came along is so helpful and loves her to pieces! Tomorrow she will be 2 weeks old and it has been amazing so far!
David Malakai Serov EDD: 9/27 BIRTHDATE: 9/26 @ 4:34pm
8lbs 13oz - 20inches
Late to post but better then never day before due date in decided to jump start things by making a large fancy meal (I had noticed that being on my feet in the kitchen a lot led to intense Braxton hicks before so thought I'd do the same and see what happens day before due date) sure enough after dinner BH kicked in every 7-9 minutes for about 30-45 seconds. Bummed when they went away after about two hours I went to bed and woke up around midnight to go to the restroom, while on the toilet I heard and felt a loud pop... Because I was already peeing I wasn't sure if my water broke or if the pop was just wishful hearing
I went back to bed and not even 15 minutes later my contractions kicked in hard and fast. My first real contraction was at 12:40... We were at the hospital by 2am at which point they confirmed my water broke and I was already at 6cm. At 7cm my birth plan flew out the window and I asked for Epidural. (Best stuff on earth! ) I labored until 3:45pm until I was ready to push. Epidural was still really strong when I had to push but I still managed to push him out within an hour.
So in love and really enjoy our little one boy at home!
FTM was really excited for an all natural birth, and was 3 days away from induction at 42wks but Ryker decided to come on his own finally. Contractions started at 10m apart at 4 am and I labored at home until 2 when we started the 2 hour trip to the hospital in a thunderstorm. Was 2-5min apart when we arrived but was only a 3 so we walked and got dinner for 2hrs. Then were admitted at a 4 so I could relax and start my hypnobirthing practices. Went to a 7 in the next 6 hours and was feeling good. Water broke at midnight. Then I went into transition... And stayed there for 4 hours never progressing past 7. He was backwards so my back labor was excruciating, and I ended up with all the pressure but could not get him past -1. I couldn't not push, but they said I would tear my cervix if I didn't stop. I'd been in labor for 24 hours at this point. I didn't know because I was in my own world, but his heart rate was dropping repeatedly. After some really tense moments trying to get it back up he dropped to the 50's and stayed there. I barely knew what was happening when they rushed us back to c-section. The anesthesia wasn't working fast enough so they wanted to put me out because he'd been down too long, but it came through at the last moment so within minutes he was out. Cried and met his daddy, then within 5 minutes he was on my chest for skin to skin. Fairly traumatic night for my DH and I, but Ryker is perfect and we are completely in love!
We had a false alarm after doing the deed on 9/27 and were sent home 3cm dialated. I spent the morning 9/28 walking around the grocery store & a local park to try to get things going. Water broke & woke me up at 1:30am 9/29. Contractions started quick & heavy and was 5cm by the time we got to the hospital. By the time I got the epidural I was 8cm and it had to be placed twice because of a curvature in my spine. Thankfully it worked wonders. I pushed for 2.5 hours with my husband and my mom coaching me through it. Baby was sunny side up and stuck behind my pubic bone. We used the vaccum through 2 contractions and she was born at 10:36am. My husband held her and my mom held my hand while my 2nd degree tears were stiched up.
Alice is the perfect baby. We are completely obsessed with her. She is beautiful and an absolute joy to have in our lives. We are so, so in love with her!
I'm a little late posting but better late than never. We had a scheduled C-Section on 09/10 due to Polyhydramnios. When I arrived at the hospital that morning I was already in labor so little man was planning on coming on his own. The whole process was very uneventful until that evening when I was finally allowed out of bed. I had a spinal headache which is the worst thing that I've ever experienced in my life. I would do it all again though to have my baby here.
Honorary Number 76 lol I have been a bit busy and this story was long and I had no interest in trying to type it on my phone. I gave birth August 31st at 5:29 am to a 8 lb 2 oz baby boy Nicholas Edward Ciarletta. Original due date September 1. It all started with feeling contractions at work on friday the 28th where mid day my coworkers convinced me to go home early. I was supposed to work that whole weekend, I work in a hospital and with our staffing I felt completely horrible if I didn't make it in. Thankfully my coworker spoke with our supervisor and they covered my shift for the weekend otherwise I would have gone in pig headed as I am. Saturday I had really no contractions till mid day and then they were 8 mins apart. My husband came home around 6 and he went to shower, I started dinner and during the cooking of dinner I started to get sharp stabbing pains in my cervix. The feelings kept coming quickly around 3 mins apart but I still ate my dinner and waited for my husband to come down from his shower. I told him I think I was in labor and that he should eat dinner quickly so we could go the to hospital. I knew he was secretly cursing me because I was not in any visible pain or concern lol. We go to the hospital around 10 where they were like umm who are you? did you call your ob first? We went to a hospital by us where our OB did not deliver. I had preregistered at the hospital at least and had all my prenatal paperwork and the MD on call had access to my blood work from her other hospital she worked at thankfully. The contractions were 4 mins apart and I was 4 cm dilated they decided to let me stay and walk around. Two hours later after they put the IV in and hooked me up to the monitor I finally got to walking. Around 2 am on sunday I finally decided to try to get some rest. My contractions pretty much stopped. I had 2 an hour and then they stopped completely. The MD came in at 1130 am on sunday the 30th and reexamined me I was 5 cm despite my contractions being non existent. They didnt want to send me home at 5 cm so they suggested pitocin. I said I want real food first and then sure pitocin why not... Hours go bye while im on pitocin I am not even feeling any contractions much at all. Eventually I was at 12 of pitocin and the nurse came in and swtiched my lines on my IV and then all of a sudden I got hit with all the pitocin at once. I had a 7 min contraction we lost the baby's heart beat the md and nurses rushed in and turned me on my knees and gave me a shot for the contraction to stop which made my heart rate go up. They were a minute from bringing me into a stat c section where I would have been put out with local and missed the birth all together. Thankfully they got his hr back and decided to let the birth continue. My water still had not broken. After 5 hours they wanted to start pitocin again and break my water and I said first I want the epidural. The epidural happened about 45 mins later, the nurse grabbed me around the neck to curl my back for the anesthesiologist and in doing so caused me to have muscle spasms to where I wasnt even able to turn my head or lay down flat, this caused labor to suck tremendously. My epidural took two tries to put in and never worked. I felt everything, I could lift my legs and never felt numb or anything. After the epidural they restarted the pitocin, I wasnt allowed to get up and my husband hated the night nurse so he told me when I had to pee hed get the bed pan etc. Well I peed one time and I said I think my water broke, hes like no youd definitely know if that happened. Well it was my water and soon I was in active labor and I was screaming and grabbing my bed rails! Pitocin contractions were no joke. The MD got the anesthesiologist back in and they upped my dose but it really didnt do anything. Then I got my check and I was ready to push. Pushed for 1 hour 45 mins and my little man was born! Moral of the story is wait till you are far into labor to go to the hospital! He is now 5 weeks old and notices his toys and does great with tummy time!
I've been wrapped in a cocoon of cuddles and sleepy days, so I am a bit delayed in my posting...

At my 41 week check up it was found that my fluid was nearing the "too low" level, so we scheduled an induction for the next day. Had my first cervical check and a sweep, which dilated me to 4cm. The next morning the hospital called - they didn't have room and would call when they did. That day we did EVERYTHING to try to get things moving - including acupuncture, but no luck. When the hospital still hadn't called after 24 hours (48 hours post my 41 week appt), my midwife advised me to come to the office for another ultrasound for fluid levels. We did and found that my fluid at dropped into the "not okay" zone, so it was a quick stop at In N Out Burger and then to the hospital.
We did three rounds of gel to help with dilation and get things moving - rounds 1 and 2 weren't so bad, but did start contractions. Round 3 hit and I was in agony. My doulas provided AMAZING support - I hopped in the tub, which helped immensely, but contractions were intense and one right after the other. I started crying for an epidural. I was amazed at how supportive the hospital staff was of my natural birth wishes and they tried to help me stick to my original goal. But after we checked and found I had made no progress beyond 6.5cm despite two hours of nonstop contractions (they thought I was in transition before they checked me), everyone was totally on board with going with an epidural - no sense suffering if you aren't making any progress! Right after the epidural, his heart rate dropped dramatically, which was a scary two minutes of medical chaos, but then it popped back up and remained strong and steady for the rest of my labor.
Post epidural - things moved fast! Dilated to an 8 within an hour, around 4am I was at 9cm and was just about ready to go. I ended up napping for two hours and I started pushing at 7am. Because of my epidural, I couldn't really feel what I was doing so I didn't make much progress and couldn't get him under my pubic bone. So after two hours of pushing, we turned off the epidural and turned on the piton - WOAH. Since his heartbeat was so strong, they decided we could continue pushing. I pushed for two more hours, channeled my inner lion, and my (not so) little one was born at 12:05pm! DH caught him and placed him on my chest. After a few minutes DH cut the cord and I delivered the placenta without issue. I did end up having a just barely 2nd degree tear (sticking up was not fun!), but have been feeling much, much better in that area within the past two days.
Jonah is just beyond marvelous. I'm a FTM and am in complete awe of this experience. My heart has never been so full of love and joy - even in those 2am feedings ;-)
Kaden Oscar EDD 9/22 DOB 10/2 10lbs 8oz, 21.5inch. Yes almost an 11lb baby!!!
My birth experience was far from ideal. Thursday night (10/1) I went into L&D for a foley bulb induction due to being 41+2 weeks with a high cervix and no dialation or effacement. The placement of the bulb wasn't painful but afterwords had very bad cramps and contractions. The worse ever. By the morning the ballon fell out indicating I was 4cm dialated. My cervix was still thick and very high.
On Friday 10/2, the doctor started petocin at 6am and broke my waters. Contractions were manageable until about noon when they kept uping the petocin. They checked my cervix again and from 6am -noon there was no change.
They checked again at 7pm and no change from 6am. We decided at this point a c-section was best. It was way worse than I ever imagined and expected and the recovery is tough. The baby was sunny side up and too big to fit. They took him away after he was born because of maconium but dad went with him.
I met him about an hour later. We did skin to skin and he immediately latched on and started nursing.

Scheduled induction 9/23 but went into labor on own that day. Labored for roughly 11 hrs total. Pushed 3.25 hrs followed by a C-section. Mom and baby doing great. We are in love with our peanut.

Went to get induced on 9/18 @5, first balloon was inserted and at 9ish dialated to a 5 after already being 2cm -4 50% if u know what I mean.

Xxx

After an almost completely natural birth Luka was born at 5:17 am. I had to be numbed at the end, due to him being stuck and the dr having to use forceps. I'm so glad little man is here finally.

10lbs 8oz, 21.5inch.
We are so in love with our baby.
