Baby book

Anyone start their baby book? I haven't yet and am dying to. I have DD hospital bracelet and hospital birth card with stats etc that I want to incorporate along with ultrasounds. Just haven't found the time yet. Wondering if I'm behind?!

Re: Baby book

  • I haven't started mine. We took it to the hospital to get hand and footprints and didn't ever manage to get them. If you're behind then I am too ;)

  • I am still working on the baby book for DD1, lol. Hoping to make progress on both before the end of my maternity leave.
  • I'm terrible at this stuff but I want my girls to be able to have their books when they're older. I haven't finished DD1s or started DD2s.
  • I started one for DD1 6 years ago and never finished. DD2 doesn't have one :(. I didn't buy one for DD3. I'm the worst.

  • I got foot prints at the hospital and wrote everything on paper but I have ugly illegible handwriting so dh has to write in the book and who knows how long that could take
  • I haven't started mine either. I keep meaning to, but whenever baby is sleeping I'm using my time to do laundry, take a shower, and do the essentials. I'm hoping once I start having the grandmas watch him on a more regular basis I can get started on it!

I did, however, just set up an email address on gmail for my little guy. I plan on writing him emails throughout the month with photos, milestones, funny stories, etc., the will give him the email address when he turns 16 or 18. My friend is doing this and I thought it was such a cool idea! Sort of a digital photo/story album.
  • I bought a really cute keepsake box from home goods and I put all the cards he got from the baby shower and his birth, birth announcements and all out bracelets and stuff. I'm putting all the keepsake moments in there and I've started his baby book as well
  • I started mine. There were a few things to fill out before birth. I know it sounds terrible but with my health taking a turn for the worse at the end, I wanted to fill out as much of the baby book I could, just in case.

  • I use a calendar that has stickers for milestones and you fill in little tidbits for each month. I find it easier to stay on top of. At the end of the year with my older two I typed out the info into s shutterfly book, added pictures to each month, and voila, baby book.
  • I've started but I'm already probably behind. I'm still working on DS1's, but I never even had a baby book so I figure anything I do is more than I got and will hopefully be appreciated. For DS1 I got a baby book that has A LOT of information to fill out. Some I really don't even care to log. I picked a simpler one for this LO because I figured it was more realistic for a second kid. It's by Lucy Darling and it's adorable. She also has really cute monthly stickers and milestone cards. I was thinking about buying the milestones cards so I can snap a pic of LO with the card so I know the date, and then add it to the baby book whenever I get a chance.
  • We bought two baby books

^^ the basic, no frills book for me to easily keep track of our memories of her

^^ my partner really likes this one and it's a fun way for him to track our memories of her in a way that he better relates with

Also... We haven't yet but I want to buy this one as a baby book that I'll eventually give her. I know three baby books is overkill (ftm syndrome much) but I like the idea of having one that's for her, and this book is absolutely beautiful with really gorgeous design and sweet quotes that make it geared towards being a book she'd actually enjoy when she got older

  • Ok, now that you've got me thinking about how bad I will likely be about keeping track of this, I bought the milestone cards. They're super cute! And I bought the holiday ones because I rarely ever buy my kids outfits for specific holidays.
