Sleeping in the Mamaroo all night?

The mamaroo was purchased from one of our family members and I am still having a hard time deciding what to let baby girl sleep in. I have a snug a bunny and now we will have the mamaroo, are both of these okay to let newborns sleep in overnight? (next to the bed ) I just don't want to spend more money on a bassinet.

Re: Sleeping in the Mamaroo all night?

  • Some mums do but i wouldn't only because you run the risk of baby's head falling forward and blocking their air passages. I let my son nap in his but only for a few hours and either hubby or I were awake to keep an eye on him.

  • The Mommaroo can be adjusted for the baby to lay pretty flat. I wouldn't see why not. The Rocking Sleepers are more inclined I believe.
  • In general babies are not supposed to sleep in rockers at night! I have a mamaroo but my son won't be sleeping in it at night and won't be unattended while in it.
  • I agree with @SamiDesch the mamaroo rockers recline all the way back into sleeping positions...I was a nanny for a few years of a little guy with severe colic and thats the only way he would sleep!
  • The first few weeks they should lay flat. My girls slept in the bassinet for about a month until it was not longer comfortable, but then they would only sleep in a bouncy chair for a few months after.

  • We received a travel sized pack n play with a basinette insert. I was originally going to have her sleep in the rocker but then did the research and decided against it. The pack n play is nice bc it isn't too big and you can use it for other things.
