My gym is technically not cross fit but might as well be lol. I did a class this weekend & was not expecting the shortness of breath to hit so soon but I could feel the increased oxygen demand!
I plan on crossfitting during my pregnancy. I am so glad someone mentioned the shortness of breath. I thought I was having some sort of major lapse in fitness!
I've been researching like crazy to find modifications and suggestions for crossfitting while pregnant. One tip I read was to take "for time" and "AMRAP" out of our crossfit vocabulary for a while. The goal should just be to keep moving and take breaks when needed. I've definitely found that to be the case in the last week!

My gym doesn't use these terms (they are very much like a CrossFit gym but don't call themselves that). But I really believe in just listening to your body. Take a break when you need it. Don't push yourself to the breaking point like you (I) used to.
Have you ladies talked to your coaches yet? I didn't want my pregnancy to be common knowledge yet but, I was sucking wind so bad today!! I feel like I need to let them know why!
I'm so glad you posted this! I'm due 6/7 and crossfiting through this pregnancy! Today I had a rough time feeling winded during the WOD. I'm hoping that is normal. It's so great so many of you momma's are still crossfiting!
I told my coach. He advised me to do 75% of my usually weight. I have been eating so bad lately, I think it is causing me to stink even more. Burpees killed me tonight.
I was supposed to get back to cross fit last week when i found out I was pregnant. Since I haven't worked out in a year and a half I've decided to get past my first trimester before starting up again. I know there are modified wods specific to pregnancy. For now, I'm waking 2-4 miles a day. Trying to stay active but not over do it at this stage. I want to stay fit during this pregnancy!
