My DS was 14 mos (DD1 was 3y/o) when DD2 was born. It's not that bad. It takes a few months to adjust to having another child in the family, but now that DD2 is nearly 18mos, they all entertain each other.
This is my 2nd round of 2 under 2 and I'm thrilled about it. My first two guys are 17 months apart and I loved the age gap! DS3 and this baby will be 22 months(ish) apart so only 2 under 2 for a short bit but super excited for it. So far the 17 month gap has been the easiest for us.

I found the 14 mos gap easier than the 25 mos gap, aside from wonder weeking/sleep regressing at the same time.
My son will be 2 years, 9 months old when this baby is born. He knows he is the baby of the family and is already showing signs of jealousy. This should be interesting.
Thanks for sharing, I was wondering how it will be. Im excited Im just thinking about when I get to my 8 or 9 month and trying to keep up with my lil girl. Right now she is the only granddaughter on both sides so if this LO is a girl too I hope she'll be ok sharing the attention..
I know its a bit early but have any of you looked into double strollers yet? Which ones are good, easy to use, safe etc.. Right now we have a 4dr sedan with basic trunk space, im thinking about finding one that will fit into it until we upgrade to an SUV.. It kinda sucks because we just got this car a 1yr ago this month, because the last car had issues and we wanted something safe before my daughter was born, now im concerned about having enough space...

I would recommend going to Babies R Us or a similar store and asking to push the strollers around. My daycare guys parents have pretty small cars so when they got his non-infant car seat they went to BrU because they have testers to put in your car to see if they fit. There are positives and negatives to all of them, you just have to find what's most comfortable for you. I borrowed a graco double (for DD and my daycare guy) where they sit one behind the other and it folds down smaller than my single stroller but there's next to no space to put a diaper bag and it can be hard to steer since it's so long. On the other hand, my friend with twins has a side by side jogging stroller (Bob I think?) that's easy to steer and has better storage, but doesn't fit through all single doors.
My first two were 15 months apart. It was crazy for the first 6 months, but it got so much easier after that. These last two will be 2 years, 5 months apart. As far as strollers go, I actually found the double stroller (baby trend sit 'n stand) to be too cumbersome and hard to maneuver. It was so much easier to put the older one in a single stroller and put the newborn in a carrier (like a moby or ergo). I used a double jogging stroller for walks once the baby was old enough to sit up on his own (5 months or so).
Just barely, my son will be 23 months when this one is born. I've heard 2u2 is busy and crazy at first, but makes for awesome times when the kids get older and can play well together!
You have officially made my day, and week!!! I have a 12 year old and a 3 1/2 year old. We decided one more and she is now 8 months. We were very surprised to learn of baby #4. All I kept thinking of is I have s baby at home already. I'm so nervous about having two littles under two. My 3 1/2 year old paired with my 8 month old keep me so busy already. I'm just hoping to keep up with all of them on top of everything else
DS and DD are 22 months apart and I loved this age gap so much that I am now on baby number three. When LO arrives DS will have just turned 4 (about a week earlier) and DD will be 26 months. I am sure it will be very busy, but I am actually really excited that my kiddos will all be so close in age. Anyone else have or having 3 under 4?
For those of you who already have had 2u2 - what was on your shopping list for #2's arrival?
So far I've thought of: •Double stroller (if I find one I like) •Another camera for the monitor •Replacing DD's bath sponge •All night sound maker (they'll be room-sharing after #2 sleeps routinely and DDs only runs 45 minutes) •Toys/keepsakes/outfits that will be specific for #2 •Probably new crib sheets because they'll be a few years old/stretched out by the time #2 comes. •Big sister gift for DD
DD will be 19 months when this one is born. I'm excited and terrified to have 2u2.
As far as double strollers, I was pretty sure we were going to have kids close together when I was pregnant with DD so we got a baby jogger city select. I LOVE it. Yes it weighs a ton and two heavier kids will probably make it slightly harder to maneuver. However, our subdivision has super narrow sidewalks on one side (going to the pool) that a side by side would not fit on. Both seats are also the same size/weight limit so one kid isn't getting stuck in a small seat. The amount of configurations is also really nice as is the huge basket underneath. I spent a good two hours at BBB testing all the strollers and it was by far my favorite.

My first two were just shy of 23 months apart. Overall it went pretty well, but it was an adjustment! One thing that I did, although it might not be as much of an issue for you since yours will be a little closer, was to start putting away all the "baby toys/gear" that my older daughter was no longer playing with. My hope was that when I got them back out after the birth of #2 DD1 wouldn't associate them as "hers" if they had been gone for awhile. That seemed to work well for us.
We don't use strollers much, so we never got a double, but we did get a new monitor, updated sheets, a few new outfits, etc. Good luck!

Our list consisted of the below. My 17 month old was still in a crib.
* Bedroom furniture since DS1 still used his crib and they had separate rooms.
*more crib sheets (2 cribs now plus extras for new little needed at daycare)
*new bottle nipples and pacifiers
*extra blankets
* 2nd sound machine for DS2's room
* 2nd video camera for DS2's room (we use cameras that connect to our ipod as a monitor)
* 2nd convertible carseat (we used DS1's infant seat for new baby)
* Double stroller, we have the Graco ready to grow with lots of seating options and have been happy with it.
* Some new outfits, not many since we were having second boy
Poor baby boy #3 literally needed nothing but a carseat. I think I've bought him a total of 5 new outfits his entire 16 months of life. If #4 is a boy, he may get nothing lol. We just have so much stuff at this point, literally nothing is needed except diapers/wipes and such.

Thanks ladies! I'm just hoping to avoid the "aw crap we don't have..." budget busters as I plan our new budget since I will be done doing daycare and we'll add another person to the family!
Wow thanks ladies it sooo good to hear the positives about
having 2U2. Going to BBB or BrU to sample some double strollers is a great
ideal. To be honest I really haven’t thought much about creating a list of
things for this baby besides a new car seat, stroller and boy clothes, if it’s
a girl we’re good my daughter has so many baby clothes. But after reviewing the
list mentioned here I’m like "aw crap we don't
have..." lol
For those of you that is having baby #2, do think you'll have another shower or a sprinkle? I heard if you had one shower you cant have another one or if you are having a baby with a different gender then you can have a sprinkle or if your babies are less than a few years apart you shouldn't have one. I'm not sure what is the norm, but I know for sure I want a gender reveal party since I did not have one with my daughter.
So I'm currently on my lunch break and I can over hear
people talking about how they want more babies and their family member just had
a baby last year and she's pregnant again. They're saying you shouldn't get
pregnant until its been at least 9 months a year since you've given birth,
because your body needs time to heal, its going to be hard for to take care of
two LO. I'm sitting here listening to this with a 9 month old baby and 3 1/2
months pregnant... I haven't shared my bundle of joy yet at work, I'm waiting
until I can’t hide it anymore... For those of you that have told people
already, have any of you experienced similar comments from others and if so
what was your response?
My youngest is 8 months old. We decided prior to her that 3 was it no more. So it's been interesting going back on that and saying I'm preggo again. My response has been hey it may not have been in our plans but it was in someone else's and its meant to be. I too have heard it takes at least a full year if not 2 for your body to fully heal after a baby dr even said that. It doesn't mean there is anything bad about not waiting that time frame. I will say once over the shock everyone seemed pretty excited for me
I have two little girls they are a year and a day apart (now a month away from being 4 and 5) and I wouldn't change it for the world. Both pregnancies went amazing both girls were very healthy and so was I. And now they are best friends. I never got any negative comments about them being so close but if you get them I would just tell people that you don't need the negative comments it's a happy time not a time to be talking badly about.
@aramaslh Just keep it positive and say "Well, I've heard from so many people that kids born close together are the best of friends, and I can't wait for that!"
My boys are 15 months apart and are inseparable. They don't remember life without each other and are super close. When I was pregnant with them I heard SO many stories from other moms about how their close-together kids are the best of friends and it's really true.
Re: Anyone having two under two..
My son is 11 months old and he'll be 17 months when this little one is due.
It's a boy! Grow baby, grow! EDD: 4/22/2016
