Grasping/swatting

Is anyone's LO grasping toys or swatting at them? I know all babies are different but I can't help but wonder if we're behind, he's still not doing this.

Re: Grasping/swatting

  • My LO is almost 10 weeks old & has been swatting for several weeks & has just started to grasp more intentionally over the last week

  • Ours is 12 weeks and just started grasping. Don't stress. A toy with loops that he kind of got his hand caught up in (if that makes sense) has been the easiest for him to grab and learn from.

  • I put toys into her hand for about a week before she started to do it on her own. Just give LO a nudge in the right direction. They'll get it.
  • My LO started grasping at 10 weeks. We were asked at our two month (9 week) appointment if she did. At that point she hadn't so I was worried but she started soon after. Don't stress just keep playing and practicing. My DS was delayed in development because he was a premie. But by the time he got to pre-k at 4 he was at the same pace as everyone else.
  • 10 weeks and he I still keeping his hands fisted.
  • 12 weeks and she literally just started grasping and swatting this morning with what seems like the intent to do it. Before it seemed an awful lot like an accident.
  • 13 weeks on Wednesday. He will swat at toys, but his littles hands are always in fists.
  • Z grabbed onto one of his toys over the weekend, it has a big circle on it but he grabbed it and pulled it to his mouth. He is almost 9 weeks. I think him being born at 41+3 helped him develop more. So fun to see our LO's developing
