Hi all! I'm new to The Bump! Curious as to when other moms introduce bottle feeding. I plan on breastfeeding as well as bottle feeding breast milk. Also, supplementing if need be. Thoughts/advise? Thanks!

It's recommended to wait until 4-6 weeks before introducing a bottle. Introducing a bottle before a good latch and supply is established can cause nipple confusion/preference and supply issues.

Not necessarily. My daughter was supplemented almost from the first day and used a pacifier the first night. She never had any issues going between all three.
ETA: Supplement was necessary with us due to breast reduction surgery I had 10 years before she was born.
Depends on the kid. My kid will take milk however it is presented to her. breast, bottle (several different kinds), cold, hot, whatever. She loves to eat. I gave her two bottles at 10 days PP because one of my nipples hurt so much I needed to give it some time to heal (I pumped while giving the bottles to keep up supply...pumping didn't hurt but nursing did). She didn't have another bottle until about 3 weeks. Starting at 3 weeks, DH would give her a bottle every Saturday and Sunday but she just nursed during the week. We had no issues when she started daycare at 12 weeks. I was lucky though...some kids are a lot more finicky than mine.

I didn't say this was the case for every baby on the planet. That's why I chose my words carefully like saying it *can* cause certain issues, and it's *recommended*.
