Snacks!

I need some snack ideas! I eat breakfast before leaving for work, usually around 6 AM, so I often need at least a couple of snacks before lunch at noon. I've had my typical go-to snacks like yogurt, sandwich crackers, apples or bananas if we have them, etc. I am just getting really bored with all the stuff I've been snacking on for the last few months and I really hate resorting to buying junk out of the vending machine. What are your favorite snacks that are easy to grab and throw in a lunch box?

Re: Snacks!

  • I'm with you.. I always go to apples, yogurt, carrot sticks. But, back in dreaded first trimester when I had to eat constantly I always carried dry cereal (not super appetizing but, works) and nuts. Cheese is a good one too!

  • I'm on a hummus and pita chips kick right now. I also like to dip veggies in hummus. They used to have a "jalapeno yogurt" dip at Costco that I was obsessed with dipping bell peppers in, but they haven't had it at my Costco for over a month, and I'm feeling very deprived! Hard boiled eggs are also a "go to" for me. I also do the fruit, yogurt, string cheese thing.
  • My go-tos are KIND bars, fruit (bananas, apples, kiwi, blackberries, grapes, cantaloupe, or strawberries), mini salads, hummus with chips/veggies, cheese, peanut butter, and almonds. I've also found that adding granola to yogurt makes it more interesting -- I like the mama chia because it has a ton of protein and omega 3s. Most kashi cereal is good dry as well.

  • Cheese stick, olives, Skinny pop ate some of my go to snacks.
  • Almonds, walnuts, any kind of fruit, baked sweet potato chips, trail mix, cheese sticks, KIND bars are my favorite, salads, cookies.... ;)
  • 4 ingredient energy balls! They are amazing!
    Peanut butter
    Honey
    Oats
    Craisins
I have also used chocolate chips, pumpkin spice, protein powder. You can use whatever you already have. They are so easy to make, keep for a while and are filling.
