We are planning a cross country move within the next 10 months. I'm so unsure about the timing on this as we are flexible, but we don't want to pay our current rent in CA plus the mortgage in TN simultaneously for longer than we have to.
If you had to choose, would you do it 2nd trimester, 3rd trimester, or with a newborn? And if you've done a move like this while pg, any tips?
Re: Anyone moving during this pregnancy?

During my last pregnancy we began getting the house ready for sale when I was 12 weeks, listed it around 20 weeks, sold at 22 weeks, packed and then moved in with my Mom between houses at 29 weeks, and finally moved into our new house at 34 weeks. My son was born 12 days later.
I had notable pre-term labor from about 30 weeks on with numerous trips to L&D, where I was admitted for observation twice. He was 100% healthy and is now in the 99.98 percentile for his age, but it was scary nonetheless.
I attribute a lot of the pre-term labor to the stress of moving, and I only moved 20 miles.
Do what is right for your family, but in my experience it might be a better idea to wait until after baby is here. I would say the newborn stage is ideal for moving since all they do is sleep for awhile anyways.

My biggest tip is to plan, plan, plan.... Do not procrastinate. Also make sure that you stay organized. There are a ton of moving suggestions on Pinterest. Things such as numbering your boxes and keeping a detailed contents list of each box will be a life saver to find things that you need quickly. I also keep a small binder for paperwork that is essential and that I might need quickly.
If you repost again before to move, I'll be sure to have more tips then as we'll have one move under our belt....and this time with two kids and two dogs....and parakeets...lol.
Anyways...I'm in the same boat as you. We looked at a couple houses last week and we're going to see a house this evening as well. Hoping DH loves this house and we can get going on the whole process! I'm super excited and I'm not too nervous to move. I have OCD and I love a good organization scheme. I'm hoping to be in before the holidays start for sure.
Little brother was born October 1, 2012.
You'll also have a lot less stuff. They might be little babies but they'll have as much stuff as you do. Move before that happens. Lots of luck!!
