Now it's hard to...

Anyone else having a hard time putting on socks and shoes? It's finally chilly here and I decided to put on socks and boots, and I've been living in my Toms and flip flops so I hadn't tried to put on shoes for a while. Oh my god, putting on socks was so hard! Anyone else struggling? Also I can no longer see my lady bits, so shaving and staying cleaned up down there is really a challenge too. Tell me I'm not alone here!

Re: Now it's hard to...

  • Yes!!! I was in a wedding this weekend and I had maternity spanx on and they kept catching my skirt so I had to ask another bridesmaid to pull them off my feet lol. The struggle is real.

  • Yes I said bye bye to my lady bits some time ago like when I hit 20 weeks now I'm 27 and I can't reach my feet either it's crazy ridiculous I stick to things I can slide in because I don't have anyone around to help me.
  • DH was laughing at me the other day after watching me try to put on my socks.  I told him i hoped he enjoyed it since he's probably going to have to start helping soon :)
  • I groomed my lady bits a day or two ago and it was very difficult. Probably will be the last time :-/ I feel like my other pregnancies I was able to do that much longer but maybe I'm remembering wrong lol. I haven't tried socks but bending over to pick up all my other kids "little things" is getting hard and that's annoying
  • It started to get cold here this past week also. DH was in the room the first time I tried to put on socks and shoes and he got a kick out of it. It was like a light bulb going on in my head, "oh, now I remember why I hated being pregnant in the winter!" A couple weeks ago I couldn't even take off my skinny jeans at the end of the day, I had to have DH help me! His response was, "so we've reached this point again, huh?" Oh, and forget being able to put on or take off my cute boots, I need help like a child would!

I also can't paint my own toe nails anymore, found that out a couple of weeks ago :(
  • When I lay down, the baby seems to kick my stomach more.  I try to lift my shirt up and see my stomach moving and I can't quite see over the little bump to get a good view of it. I also think that within the next 2-3 weeks, I'll be investing in a shower seat, so that I don't have to do a balancing act anymore to shave my legs.  I'm too afraid I'm going to lose my balance in there, once I get a little bigger, that and I get out of breath from bending over and keeping my leg raised up onto the side, lol =P
  • Boots are impossible!!!! I wear uggs 4 months of the year and its so hard to get them on!

I haven't had to much trouble getting my shoes and socks on but taking off my skinny's are a fight every day!!
  • Yes! Grabbed my socks for the first time this week and I literally struggled. Not to mention when I put on pants I have to lift my legs out to the right or left. It's so funny looking.. And we still have 3 months lol!
  • Oh yes!!! And it's so much sooner this round!

I told my husband tonight that once something hits the ground it no longer exists to me.

And I haven't been able to see downstairs for weeks! I feel like it only got bad with DD the last few weeks, not 3 months to go!!!

I'm skipping shoes that tie for the remainder of this pregnancy. Flats are life now. :)

  • I can still put my shoes and socks on, surprisingly, but tying them?! Oh my gosh. I work at a school and for whatever reason, my shoes come untied every few steps. My students all find it hilarious watching me attempt to stop mid-hallway, squat down, and balance while tying my shoe... then it's the process of getting back up.
    I'm buying slip ons today.
  • Getting in and out of bed! When I get up in the middle of the night I feel like I did a whole cardio workout by the time I get back in!

  • Sitting Indian style. I work with infants and it hurts my sciatic to cross my legs now. And i sound like a whale when i have to get up:(
  • I can still get shoes on for the most part ... takes a few minutes longer though. Lady bits getting harder to take care of. I will soon be asking DH to help with personal grooming. He helped keep it in order with the first two and don't see why he wouldn't do he part this time ... if not I'll remind him that he did play a part in this baby who is making it difficult to groom the lady bits :) lol
  • yess! I'm so thankful that my DH is so helpful, he helps me put on my pants, my socks and my shoes, otherwise I feel like I will vomit if I bend over. I definitely don't feel like a magical pregnancy unicorn when I'm waddling around the house!! 8->
  • Standing up after sitting. Pooping. I know it's fairly unrelated so size but for my last pregnancy, and it appears this one also, I couldn't poop without help (laxatives or enemas) starting at week 20. Only 18 more weeks of shooting water up my butt to deuce... Counting down...
  • Our washer/dryer is in the basement and its def getting harder to carry laundry baskets up and down. I don't mind the actual doing laundry and putting it away, but the baskets up and down the stairs is officially delegated to DH.
  • I tell my DH I'm running out of negative space between my legs and belly. Haha :)

I actually groomed the lady bits last night successfully, I remembered to do it while I still can!! :)

I used to keep my work shoes in the car and ride in wearing flip flops, and swap them in the car.....yeeeeaaaaaa that's not happening anymore, I maneuver them on at home and ride in haha.

Also, I all of the sudden fail to have sympathy for anyone...hahahaha jk....kinda!! I'm also pretty unapologetic these days about a lot.
Oh you're tired 25 year old male coworker? Awwww....well suck it up and get back to work....ugh. I know we're talking about physical stuff but it's all too true.
  • I have to wear steel toe shoes to work and I am getting to the point where I really need to dig out the slip on ones I got during my first pregnancy. It is just too hard to bend down to tie normal shoes now! Even worse though is picking up toys around the house! I have found myself crawling or scooting on my butt around the room to pick things up because that is easier than bending over a million times. It has forced me though to get more creative with ways to convince DS to help clean up!

  • lol I keep trying to get DH to help me shave my legs but he's not really buying into it. =) Someone needs to invent something to help us put on cute boots!
  • I started reading this thread and was really surprised. So far I haven't had any problem putting on socks or shoes; most nights I sit Indian style to watch TV as that's always been more comfortable to me. But I figured out yesterday that I think this is a height thing! One of my coworkers who is 9 inches shorter than me and 3 weeks behind me is already having these problems. This is the one time in my life I'm happy to have a long torso!

But right now, getting harder to walk and talk, which is sometimes a big part of my job. Having to stop for a moment to have a conversation with people. Not a out of shape thing as I've still been working out regularly during this pregnancy but it's SUPER annoying.

I'm also not having any problems with shoes or socks. I'm 5'2".  I still walk my dog, run up and down the stairs, sit on the floor with the dog, sit cross legged at yoga, get on and off the couch without help, etc. Maybe I'm just having an easy time? I don't know. I'm 26+4.
  • Yes! When I sit and bend over to try my shoes I feel like I'm squishing her and its very uncomfortable!
I've also neglected to grooming certain 'areas' which my husband recently called me out on. He was just joking about it but any advice on how to maneuver around to get a clean shave? Thanks!
  • Today I wore converse shoes and realised that bending over to tie them is a no go anymore. Bending for anything now is just like... No, there is no space on my insides to allow for this!
  • Most of my shoes are slip on! If I'm not working I live in flip flops- who cares if it's 50 degrees outside -pah-
I am excited that it's finally fall so I can wear my boots - but I'm still living in yoga pants sooo that's not going to be a fashion statement.
When I have to put on socks it definitely leaves me winded.
Legs - shaved this morning.... Successfully.
Lady parts- SO has been doing that since the beginning of pregnancy, what? He has to get experience
  • Oh wow, I'm still able to do everything normally for now, but I'm due on the last day of January, so this thread is like looking into my future 3-4 weeks from now I guess!  Crazy to imagine as a FTM!
