Re: Braxton Hicks

  • I've been having regular BH for weeks and it's so frustrating and confusing and disheartening when they don't turn into anything, but I've found it best to tell myself it's nothing because 1) most likely it really is nothing and 2) if it ever does turn into the real deal I'll know and be pleasantly surprised.

  • I'm so confused I don't know what to think anymore :-w. It's been hard for me to distinguish between certain symptoms, and I know there are people who go into labor without much warning, and give birth in just a few minutes (my mum & grandma both had super short birthing experiences-minutes). I'll just wait to see what happens, watch out for major changes, call in case of anything, and be prepared for baby to make her/his debut! Wishing all of us beautiful journeys.
  • I'm glad Im not alone! I've been having consonant BH, but they're not consistent.
  • I've been feeling like I have period cramps the last 3 days, I'm a FTM and assuming they are Braxton hicks because they get better and worse throughout the day. I'm 39 weeks today. Last Monday I was 1 cm and 50%. Go back to dr. Tuesday so we will see!

I had some crazy Braxton hicks to the point where I stood over my husband as he slept wondering if it was time to wake him. I dealt with it through the night. The next day, they fired up again... But it was my daughter's 9th birthday party, so I decided to push them to the side. Until I no longer could... These contractions started to change. Constant tightening turned in to period like cramps that wrapped around my back and then chills, goosebumps and the sweats. Then I found I began to shake uncontrollably. At this point, I would hide away in my room until these little fits passed. A bit later I then told my hubby and decided to call the doctor. Within four hours, I found myself at the hospital now the mother of three... My little boy came three weeks early.

I was very worried about what labor was as I was induced and had an out of control preterm labor in the past... However, ladies trust your body and you intuition. When your body goes in to labor, go with what your body tells you and quite honestly, better to be safe than sorry!! Best wishes!
