1st pregnancy

WHOAH this is the hardest thing I have ever done! I was recently in the ER as I hadn't been able to eat or drink anything for 6 days and was SEVERLY dehydrated. I felt like such a failure by not being able to handle it. I guess I am hard headed but any advice on help with eating and drinking water? The ER gave me ant nausea medication but I don't want to have to take it every day!!!

  • No advice here, but if the med will help you to stay hydrated and keep food down, it sounds like that's the best thing for you and baby. I hope you feel better soon.
  • My nausea is increasing everyday. I have yet to throw up, but nearly lost it yesterday morning in the grocery store. I hate throwing up, so I am dreading it getting worse in the weeks ahead as I am only reaching week 5. I have been diligent about eating something before I get hungry. I also find drinking milk before bed, and any time I start to feel sick helps. I don't drink a ton, just a little, except when I go to bed when I drink a whole glass. I also carry crackers with me and my water bottle is filled with either peppermint or ginger tea at all times. I teach, so I have a stash of bananas, crackers, and almonds in my desk to munch on when I get dizzy or nauseated theoughout the day. I also aim to max out my protein consumption during the day.   • Thanks for the advice ladies. I am scared thats for sure. Its all so new to me. I have been taking the medication and its been helping a lot, I am not throwing up nearly as much as I was. Still very hard to eat much of anything so far its mac and cheese and popcorn. I am usually a very healthy eater so it drives me a little crazy but I am taking a veggie and fruit supplament so I am hoping it helps get some nutrients to the baby. I see the OB on October 6th for the first time! I am so excited to see the little peanut! Thanks for the advice!
